He should be fine. I just tripped on the rug in the hall and almost killed myself trying not to fall on one of the girls who were all following at my heels. No matter how careful they sometimes get in the way, They do seem to learn pretty quick to get oot of the way. Lots of kisses and treats make them forget.

Wow! What a good idea! I never thought of putting a bell on my dogs collar. I have stepped on her twice - on her foot and her tail - in the past. You feel terrible and think you have done some dreadful damage. Fortunately, she was fine within a minute. I felt her foot and tail carefully the next day, as well as after it happened, but she was fine. I also shuffle now! I am going to get a bell this week and put it on her collar. Thanks so much for that tip!

He or she was probably frightend. You feel worse, I am sure you poor babies!! Please reassure your pup and give lts and lots off aaaffection and hold him or her and talk to the pup in a soothing voice. I would offer a treat too. How is your baby doing now?

Ohh hun don't feel bad! It happens to all of us!

When I 1st got Lillie I accidentally kicked her down my basement stairs!!! OMG did I ever feel so bad. Thank god she was ok, but I totally freaked out!

Your pup will be OK. I can't tell you the mishaps I had with Archie when he was little. On his very first night home, at 3 months old, I accidently bounced a small rubber ball off his head! I was terrified. He squeeked for a second, but was fine. Another time, I was carrying him through the house and tripped and fell. I hit the floor hard, but managed to "throw him free" of the carnage! I've accidently kicked him, too. As long as your pup shows no signs of being physically hurt, he'll be OK. The trick is never to make a big deal out of these mishaps, so that they don't become fearfull and nervous. Just say, in a bright voice, "Oh, my goodness! Mommy's so clumsy!"

Unfortunately, that happens to all of us at some time or another. I am constantly watching where I walk because my boys follow me around, and I'm always afraid of stepping on them. In fact, I've lost my balance and fallen to avoid stepping on them. Don't worry, your baby will forgive you.

Hot Rod is my first dog. I've always had cats. Well for the first few weeks, I think I kept accidentally kicking him in the head (not hard but definitely making contact) because I didn't realize he was right behind me!

I was used to cats having a more quicker reaction.

But the other night he had the zoomies and flew right into my hubby's legs when he went around a corner and actually yelp and cried! Hubby picked him right up and started to comfort him. He brought Hot Rod over to me and he literally flew/jumped into my arms. I guess he was shocked by it and didn't want to be with hubby. But after a few minutes he was fine and giving hubby kisses.

i can understand why you would be worried.
when sophie was about 3 months old my neighbor was playing with sophie,
sophie gets REALLY excited around new people and squiggles a lot.
well, she wiggled right out of my neighbors arms and fell on the concrete.
i was terrified.
she stood up and seemed to just shake it off.

but from that day,
i am wary about who i let hold my dog.
she's just too hyper,
but she's a tough cookie.
