| Little Dublin came from Celtic Irish Puppies!! Marie, a really sweet lady on Long Island who gets them from her sister in Ireland! The puppies (she had 4 when I was there) were all clean, bright-eyed, healthy and playing in a crib in her clean and comfortable but modest living room! She gave me paperwork with the lineage (Certificate Pedigree Three Generation) that had the litter identification number, breeder and lineage on it. She also gave me a paper from the NY Dept of Agriculture with the import and health information along with 'new puppy' care instructions and shot records. A few weeks later I got the forms in the mail for registering him with the Universal Kennel Club International. (I just happen to have the folder at work with me today, and as I'm looking at it, I see the mail-in address is in Nanuet, NY. Hmmm???) Marie was referred to us by someone that works with my husband who had bought a pup from her last year and was really pleased with her pup. She was so nice and helpful-gave us a card and said to call anytime with any questions. Her young adult son was home and snuggling with them while we were there, and had to kiss & hug little Dub goodbye. The pups seemed to get lots of love and attention, and little Dublin adjusted easily to our home and has been happy and healthy. (He did have a slight cough that the vet diagnosed as kennel cough and gave me Clavamox for him - but he wasn't nearly as sick as another puppy that we got a few years ago that had kennel cough!!) OY!! I'm in shock! I work for an Irish company and lots of Irish who were quick to tell me how much better their animal laws are and to point out that they don't have rabies or parvo because of them. No quarantine to bring into the US, etc. Again, I'm afraid to follow the link! I'll have to wait until I get home...

| I have seen Celtic Irish puppies before. I liked the looks of their Cavalier King Charles spaniels. I wonder if they are a mill. I wonder if there's any way we can get more information.

| Please check this out and tell me what it is??? http://universalkennel.com It seems to be a family business selling dog registrations??? I just did a quick look at it and will read further when I get home, but it sure looks fishy to me... Still too upset to look at the link above. Need some of you Internet savvy sleuths to help me find out more about this. I have all of this "official looking" documentation, but it could be a pup from a mill anywhere! How do I find out about Dublin's parents, breeder, etc?

| It just amazes me how prevalent puppy mills seem to be. it also amazes me how evil and cruel people can be for money. |

| I can't open the site for Universal Kennel Club, I'll try something else. Sherry Lynn, try not to be too upset, we don't know anything definite about Celtic, and you certainly didn't know before you got Dublin that this was even a question. |

| Does anyone have any info on the Wilmington, DE breeder? I know our two Yorkies came from a breeder who also bred Lhasa Apsos and their parents came from Ireland. They can only be registered with Universal Kennel Club International so I have been trying to find out more about them. Sorry to dig up such an old topic, but I am concerned they are puppy mill dogs with the whole Ireland situation. Thanks, Mel |
