| Update SO LETS TRY THIS AGAIN! THE COMPUTER LOST MY LAST POST? WELL WE SPENT THE DAY AT MY PARENTS HOUSE AND I'M STILL CONFUSED AS EVER. LET ME EXPLAIN. MY DAD HAS A 7 YEAR OLD POM NAMED, BUDDY. WHEN GIGI ARRIVED IT WAS TIME FOR BREAKFAST SO I BROUGHT ENOUGH FOR BOTH DOGS BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE THE IAMS MY MOM FEEDS BUDDY AND I DIDN'T WANT ANY ISSUES. AS WELL I BROUGHT WATER BECAUSE I USE A BREATHE FRESHNER IN GIGI'S. I GAVE BOTH DOGS THEIR OWN FOOD DISH AND ONE WATER BOWL. GIGI GOT SO EXCITED THEY WERE EATING OUT OF EACHOTHERS BOWLS JUST GOBBELING IT DOWN FASTER THAN I HAD EVER SEEN. AND OF COURSE... GIGI VOMMITED 5 TIMES IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING? SHE WAS SO EXCITED THAT SHE HARDLY INTERACTED WITH ME ATLL. SHE JUST WANTED TO PLAY WITH BUDDY. OBVIOUSLY I FED THEM SEPERATELY LATER ON WITHOUT EVENT. YET GIGI WOULD NOT POTTY AT MY PARENTS HOUSE NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I TRIED? AS SOON AS HER FEET HIT THE GROUND SHE RAN TO THE LAWN AND PEED. GIGI IS MY CONSTANT COMPANION AND SHE NEVER LEAVES MY SIDE. WHEN I TAKE A SHOWER OR GO TO THE STORE GIGI IS WITH ME. I COULDN'T HELP BUT WONDER IF SHE PREFERED THE DOG'S COMPANY TO MINE? I PLAY WITH HER, TAKE HER OUTSIDE TO POTTY AND PLAY SEVERAL TIMES A DAY AND GROOMER HER DAILY FOR THE LAST MONTH I HAVE HAD GIGI. SHE JUST TURNED NINE MONTHS BUT I FELT LIKE SHE PREFERED BUDDY TO MY ATTENTION? IS THIS USUAL? DOES IT WEAR OFF? PLEASE HELP! I WANT TO DO WHAT'S BEST FOR GIGI?

| Hi, it does sound like Gigi has a need for a companion. I had Zander for a year, I wanted to make sure he was potty trained, obedient, so that if I got another yorkie, she would learn good things from him. He had always been quiet, layed back, very mellow. The day I brought Jazzie home, I walked straight to the backyard, less territorial. He was like, what is thattt? Jazzie was 4 months, she began to play and chase Zander. I had never seen him so ALIVE!! He chased and played with her for a long time. When I brought them in they were tired, layed down for a nap together. He still loves to follow me around the house, he loves to be held. Jazzie was more, I want to be with Zander, so I took her, held her while I groomed her, carried her around and eventually she also became mommies girl . Its fun to watch them play, chase each other & so on. The part that can get tough is having the double expense for vet bills, boarding, etc. I would not trade it Good luck. Oooh, Zander was like Gigi, would not tinkle anywhere but home, I was told by a dog trainer, the moment he gets up instead of taking him to your backyard, take him for a walk, that way he will tinkle elsewhere and get past the I can only tinkle in my backyard. It worked. Give Gigi time, she is excited about things being NEW.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Having 4 dogs in the house right now, I would defintely say that dogs love each others company. When I take one of them out of the house by themselves, the others love all over that one when I get home. It is like they miss each other more than they miss me sometimes...it is so funny to watch b/c they will give each other kisses and run around and play like the are long lost friends. I would also have at least two b/c it helps to keep them company while I am at work or away. Each time I bring a new one in it is a different experience, some come in and settle in immediately and others struggle to find their place in the pack. But either way, over time they all grow to love and comfort each other!!
