No Longer a Member | ![]() Gizmo can predict the weather better than the weather channel. He knows when it's going to rain before I do. It's the only time goes to the closet and burries up in the blankets. Rarely is nobody home at my house but if there's a chance of weather, I leave my closet open a bit so he can make his nest and hide til it's over. ![]() |

| ![]() My fur baby is not afraid of storms which is a very good thing as we have been getting them at least once a week or more. Some pups get upset as the thunder hurts their ears. To some of them the sound is very painful. In the past with other babies that I have had, not Yorkies, I try to keep the TV or a radio on during the storm to help ease the noise. This was very helpful when they would get scared and very stress over fireworks. During the 4th of July I kept them wrapped up and next to me while watching the TV. I did not coddle them, but kept their ears from getting to much noise. |

| ![]() Hi, Sydney here. I am scared to death of storms. My mommy can tell a storm is coming before it gets here by the way I pace and pant. Once it hits I shake like crazy. My mom trys to console me but I can't sit still long enough. I am going to make my mommy read those links that were provided so she can learn what to do to help me not react to those loud storms.

| ![]() Aww Layla I'm sorry you were scared! My Jamie is not scared of thunder but he is scared of lighting. Go figure. We just try to keep the lights on in the living room so that he can't tell its lightning. Maybe whe it storms your mommy can turn the tv up so you can't hear it as well or distract you with a game?

| ![]() My tiniest Yorkie became terrified of storms about 5 yrs. ago when we were coming home from MS in a horrendous thunderstorm. She's even afraid when it just drizzles. I can't even hold her, she is in such a panic. Circles, circles, circles. I give her PetCalm. The first dose doesn't touch her so I try to give it before the storms come. The second dose helps. She's still afraid but not in a total panic. She'll at least lay down beside me and just shake.

| ![]() Cooper is scared of the smoke alarm !!! It went off one evening while I was cooking.(I forgot to turn the fan on ) Cooper skidded across the kitchen floor and dove under my bed. I couldn't coax him out , I just had to wait for him to come peeking around the corner to scoop him up and cuddle. I dont think we have had any thunder yet , so I hope he isnt . |

| ![]() Hi, Katy here, I love storms!! Mom and Dad take me out to the garage and we get the lawn chairs out, so we can watch the storms. We have lots of fun. We wait for the big bolt of light then, Mom and Dad yell, "Ka Boom"! when the big sound comes. Its a lot of fun. Maybe your Mom and Dad can play games with you during the next storm. ![]() |

| ![]() Its heartbreaking to watch your babies cower in fear isn't it? Mine are not afraid of storms at all, they don't even notice when it thunders.. however one of my boys is TERRIFIED of my dishwasher. Just MINE though. Any other house with a dishwasher running he is fine, but not at his own house. It breaks my heart though. I don't baby him and I don't pick him up and Ive often tried to sit on the floor near the dishwasher or give him a treat if he comes close to me while Im close to the dishwasher but nothing has helped... when its running he is at my feet or as close to me as he can get and shakes soooo hard! ![]() Oh yeah, and my 2 boys are the first dogs Ive ever owned who are not afraid of fireworks either... they watch them! haha

| ![]() Hi Layla. This is Loki. I hate thunderstorms. Mom puts a tank top on me and puts my bed in the closet. She used to go and get me out of the closet but I like I feel safe in there so once the storm starts she gets my bed and blankie and off to the closet we go!

For next time there is a storm have some Dr. Bach's Rescue Remedy around (you can get this at Whole Foods or another health food store and put 3-4 drops in her mouth every 2-3 hours.
