| Wow that was SCARY! I made a big boo boo this morning when I brought Ryder and Faith back inside. I put them in the xpen and went to get ready for work, and about 15 minutes later I heard one of the dogs screaming from upstairs. I ran up and found Ryder stuck to the side of the pen...he had gotten his collar hung on the bars and was choking!! I took off his and Faith's collars immediately...but omg that was so scary!!! I had completely forgotten they were on, they just wear them out of habit. Now I'm going to be really OCD about checking everyone before I leave the house!!! |

Donating YT Addict | That is so scary!!! I have never had a collar on Ozzy but really worry because he has no nametags on. He is being micro chipped tuesday when he is neutered. I think I am going to order some tags and hang them on his harness so whenever he goes out he has them. These Babies, it's amazing how fast and how much trouble they can get in! We can never stop being vigilant.

| Oh that is sooo scary. It can happen so easily! And it's so hard not to keep thinking about it. ~Hugs~

| How scary! I'm glad you were still home when it happened! I don't leave collars on my boys, only when we are outside or go somewhere. I had a collar on Jake when he was about 5 mos. old, and he tried to take it off. It got caught and almost choked him! I'll never forget that, it was so scary! It was Christmas Eve and chaotic, and I had forgotten to take his collar off when we got home from my parents' house. I have never forgotten to take them off since.

| So scary! I'm glad you were there to help him. I only put tags on my girls when we go to the dog park, I have heard horror stories and am so paranoid about that now! JoRae

| OMG! It was so lucky that you were home! We had a horrible tragedy on another forum a few years ago. The member came home from work and found her puppy had hung himself by his collar on the baby gate. I never, ever put a collar on Lady, only a harness. |

| Thank God he was okay! How frightening! I just started putting a collar on Xavier because I thought it'd be good for him to always have his tags on just in case. He's microchipped already, but the tags are obvious you know? I think I should just leave his harness on during the day maybe? Although I hate to because it mats his fur . Matted fur is better than injured throats though...
