Thanks guys! Got word back from AKC that they WILL let us use Ha' Penny since no Yorkie kennel has that name but I'm forwarded all your suggestions to my mom for her to decide. I like Pennyroyal - very regal!

It's pronounced " hae" = long "e" - it's currency - it's half a penny and English.

I think at least 90% of my dogs have longer names that there are blocks to write each letter. So, if you have a longer name, go for it!! Rini's Whisperin Hope 4 tomorrow, has 30 letters, I think and I had no problem with registering the name.. I love both names that YorkieRose suggests..

Why can't you use the initials in their names? I was going to call my kennel "Hairy Little Monsters" and use "HLM" in their names. Like "HLM Autumn Rose." I decided against it because as much as I thot it was cute and funny someone else might take it the wrong way.

Akc Very few people register their kennel prefix with AKC. It is an understood thing not to use others kennel names. In Canada everyone registers their names. I have had "Primrose" for 30 yrs...it comes from the name of the house I lived in..(England) "Primrose Hall"...the English like to name their homes, big or small. I was on Ebay last year and noticed Cindy Totten, the Yorkie artist named her kennel the same name. Are you going to register your "Penny" PREFIX?

Yes, I want to register the name. After the "Pennylane" debaucle. As you can see in one of the win shots I posted, we already had Er-ters make up a Pennylane table cover! So, I would like to "cover' all basis esp. since we wont be doing breeding for years to come and I'd like to "Reserve" the name - my goal is to breed "performance Yorkies."

Well, since I will never have a kennel, I am going to give you a very cute name for one....it doesn't have Penny in it, but it does have the letter "P". "Puppy Breath" Now, if that was listed under Kennels and you saw Puppy Breath Kennels, wouldn't you want to check it out? Good luck!

name OH...I did not realize you had the Pennylane cover..well, I guess Barabara wasn't pleased! LOL I would register now also...so much easier before you start breeding. It is easier to do. Just a hint for anyone starting...contact some Yorkie people who sho and ask if the name is being used...well known names are familiar to all. Puppy Breath is so cute...although some people complain their pups breath smell awful..LOL
