| ![]() so i've only had him for a month and a half and i am absolutely obsessed with him and i already want to get another one. i am yorkie-crazed, i think! the main reason i want another is because i guilt-trip myself DAILY for leaving him alone for any length of time. I plan my activities around him and i only like going places where he can join me! hahaha ![]() Anyway, that leads me to my question: when adding a second yorkie to the family, would it be better to get another boy or should i consider a little girl? I have no preference, really. Just want some advice... thanks!

| ![]() I am actually going through the same thought process right now and would also like to hear peoples' opinions on the subject. I'm not sure we could get another right now, but as soon as we get a larger place my husband is going to start hearing it!

| ![]() I definitely think getting them a companion is a good idea, especially when Remy is younger. It's harder to add another once they are used to ruling the roost. There has been an adjustment period each time we added a baby to the house (we just got Ranger one week ago), but in time they come around and are best friends. I really don't think two is any harder to take care of than one...however, me adding this third one has kept me verrrry busy!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | ![]() It's a nice idea to add one if you want and can deal with potty training of two at the same time. I think it would be a good idea to take him to pick his sibling when you go. I would add a girl. But that is my personal preference. You have what my friend Mary (Grizzley Bear) and I refer to as the yorkie vibe...lol Once you get one you want more. They are very addictive.

| ![]() I had Andy a month and I knew I wanted another one. And since I got stormy he doesn't seem to mind the time I have leave him now. The whole household seems happier with stormy in our lives. |

| ![]() Gracie pretty much let me know that she wanted a playmate to keep her company. I have not regretted getting a second for one minute. Rather than choose by sex, choose by temperament. You don't want to get a dog that is more of a pack leader than what you have now. Your current dog should be leader of its pack. Take your current baby with you to the breeder's to pick out your new one if you can. If not, be sure and let your breeder know what personality your current dog has so that an appropriate choice can be selected.

| ![]() I had Jake for about a year when I decided to get Jackson. I have never regretted it. My boys rarely have to be left alone, but it does help Jake to have a companion when we do have to leave them. They are buddies and play together all the time. I think that as long as you can handle training two at once, go for it! Having two is twice the fun! ![]()

| ![]() Is it possible that a yorkie likes being an "only child". I sometimes wonder if I see this in my neighbors yorkie. Her first was 2 when she added another. They get along fine, but sometimes I wonder if her first liked being an "only child". Sounds kinda crazy, but sometimes I wonder ![]()

It is not very often we get Yorkie pups up for sale on our Island.....guess I will have to keep working on hubby! ![]() ![]()
