| Ear Piercing Bark!!!! Hi everyone! I still don't know how to post pics up properly on this forum. I wish I could get my pics to enlarge once you click onto the picture, but my pictures that I post don't seem to do that Anyways, just wondering if anyone else's Yorkie has a very, high pitched, ear piercing bark? Cinderella has this crazy high pitched bark, and even louder scream to her. Alot of the times, when she can't get what she wants, she will scream so loud in this high pitched voice, I had to already warn my neighbors that if they happen to hear a dog scream in such a way like we're ripping her legs off or something, to just relax, we're not harming her in any way, shape or form. That's just how Cinderella's voices her demands at me. Its absolutely crazy. Even my friend, who is so knowlegeable in dogs, says she's never heard anything as crazy as her barks and screams! Anyone else out there, or do I have a monster of a Yorkie? She's so crazy too! I'm really hoping that she will settle down. She is 11 months old right now. She's aged me so much since I've had her for the past 6 months Thanks everyone! |

| Welcome to YT!!! No, Winston does not have a screaming bark...annoying at times but not ear piercing. You'll have to teach her to use her inside voice...sssshhhh...lol... Yes, they are all Yorkies, but yet they are all so very unique. Enjoy her uniqueness.

| For barking, we use a can with pennies inside it. The noise scares Franklin and he stops in his tracks when I so much as touch the can. A lot of people use water in a spray bottle. What do you mean by she's crazy? Like, does she have too much energy? If so - that's what you signed up for when you got a Yorkie . But in all seriousness, do you walk her? I find that daily walks tire Franklin out and he's much more enjoyable that way.

Hi PrincessDiana! Yes, she has sooo much energy. I really didn't know what I was getting into when I got Cinderella, despite me researching about Yorkies. I just didn't think they could be like an equivalent smaller version of a Jack Russell Terrier. I love her most when she's in my bag when we're out because she's sweet and calm, or when she's sleeping! I do try to walk her, but here in Vancouver, we have been having the craziest weather. It even snowed yesterday! The weather has been too cold to take her out, but the few times it warmed up, I did take her out. It doesn't help too much. Surprisingly, she doesn't sleep much. My chihuahua and my s**tzu/chi sleep most of the time, but Cinderella is always doing something to keep herself occupied. Right now she's chewing on her favorite octopus squeeky toy I have tried using the spray bottle, and the can of coins. She doesn't seem to get really startled I have given up hope on trying to stop her "voice"....I think its just the package that she comes with. I was just wondering if any other yorkies had this shrieking/ear piecing voice? So far....no one Here is a picture of my 3 dogs all lined up on the couch resting! I finally learned how to post up pics! Enjoy!

| Never fear you're not alone. My Max has the same kind of earsplitting bark and scream. One day my sister was here and when she went to leave he screamed so loud so almost fainted. She thought someone had stepped on him or something. |

YT 500 Club Member | I'm not sure is Sophie's bark is high pitched, but I have seen people wince when she barks. So there is some ear splitting going on. A spray bottle with water will usually stop her though. Now we just need to show it to her.

| Jackson can sometimes have an ear-splitting bark. He is much more vocal than Jake. Jake rarely barks, thank goodness! You just have to keep working toward getting her to learn not to bark her demands. Don't give up, it just takes time. One way I'm finding effective is to ignore him until he settles down. I tell him "no" and if he keeps barking, I go about my business and ignore him. He doesn't like to be ignored, so he settles down and stops barking. (He doesn't realize that ignoring him is just as hard for me as it is for him lol)

Ha, ha....sorry, but that is soooo funny! I laughed so much when I read that. I guess it must of been "wish you there" moments When my chihuahua, Gizmo is chewing on a bone and Cinderella goes crazy because she wants it......OMG! Her screams are soooo ear piercing, I'm worried my circle mirrors on the wall are going to break! (Note: the circle mirrors on the wall in the background!)
