| Microchip Issue Yesterday when Marley got spayed, I also got a microchip put in. Last night I was petting her, and right where it is, there's a bunch of air bubbles or something? You can actually hear them when you pet her, and you can feel them sort of krinkel. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I be worried? It's driving me insane, I was already a bit nervous about microchipping her, and now this. I got my cat done a couple weeks ago, and this didn't happen with him.

| I can feel Lacy's chip...air bubbles sound strange though. I would just ask your vet about it and have them take a look

| Are you sure it isn't just the chip you're feeling? I can feel Britney and Brooklyn's microchips and it kind of freaks me out.

| I am glad you got your little one chipped....But I would go to the vet asap and ask about the air bubble thing. If it really is an air bubble, it will eventually dissipate through the skin. But it's a little unnerving, to say the least. |

| I can feel the chip, but there's definitely air bubbles too or something, it's really strange. I'm going to call the vet on Monday when they open. It's really stressing me out, and maybe it shouldn't, but I worry so much about her! I hope it goes away on its own.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | does it feel like crackling under the skin? is there like a soft lump and when you push down on it it feels crackly? if so that's air under the skin. i never heard of that happening with microchipping though. odd. i'd ask the vet.

| That's exactly what it's like. Is it bad to have air under the skin? Does it just go away?

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | the only time i've seen this is with trauma patients, like dogs that have been hit by cars or attacked by other animals. We just had a shih tzu in hosp because it was attacked by a coyote. she had puncture wounds all around her head and neck that left holes in the skin. The holes allowed air to get in a create pockets, if you will, under the skin. they are very painful if touched and it fells like crackles under the skin. they usually go away in a few days.
