| How Far Do You Walk? I had always just taken Basil for walks around our neighborhood. My mom & I started walking to lose weight a few weeks ago and there's a beautiful riverside walking/biking trail near her house. I thought that we'd take Baz with us and if he got tired, I'd pick him up & carry him. We go about 2 miles 4 times a week and he loves it! He's on a harness and leash and probably walks even farther than we do (if you include all the side-to-side and front-to-back weaving that he does). He meets all kinds of new pals like chippies, geese and wild turkeys. We stop for a five-minute rest mid-way before we turn around and come back and I always carry a water bottle and he drinks as much as wants from my hand. He doesn't seem at all tired at the end. Do you think that this is too far for him? |

| I think as long as he doesn't seem tired, he's fine. Dogs will also build up tolerance like we do! They have so much energy and I think it's good for them to get it all out and get a work out like we do. I take Franklin out for 30 minutes every day. I'm not sure how far I walk, though. When Franklin starts to slow down or lag, I take it as him getting tired and I pick him up.

| Simon and I walk about 3 miles a night, more on the weekend. He loves it and I love taking him with me. If Hallie goes, I carry her in her sling carrier or sometimes we leave her at home. They have so much fun don't they? |

| We have to drive to get to the trail and he does this yawn/cry thing all the way there, starting when we put our Crocs on at the house. I have to make sure that I really have hold of the leash when I open the car door because he's out so fast that I get a rope burn. I've NEVER seen him so excited about anything before! |

| Bubba and Sissy will walk 3 miles and enjoy every second of it. The usually want to take a nap and sleep well after a good outing. They probably would be willing to walk further but our park is 3 miles around.

| Oscar loves it when I come home from work with his harness in my hand!! We walk for about 45 minutes. He is only 5 months old but he loves to go!! I live in a private lake area so we walk to the beach and enjoy the wild animals and other dogs there too. We go in the mornings to on my days off to wind the monster down a little bit! When we come home he lays down for about an hour before hes the crazy Oscar again, but it gives me time to do my things!! Sometimes he will stand at the door and bark until he gets his way, but most of the time 45 minutes does it for him.

YT Addict | Teddy jumps up and down and gets excited to the point where he cries whenever I get the leash around his harness. Although, I have taught him to sit at the door before we go out so he sits there so patiently. However, the anticipation of the walk gets to him so much that his butt is halfway down on the ground and up in the air. I love walking him, he has so much fun.

| We measured the walk we do along the sea front/beach, it is 1.2 miles. She does cover more than this if the tide is out and we can get on the beach as she will run free with no lead then. She loves her walks She sleeps for ages after, sleeps like a baby! The only way to get a peaceful evening with no tearing around

| that doesn't sound like TOO much. Slade can walk 3 miles w/o getting too tired. I can't walk my bullie girl more than a mile w/o her being ready to keel over.

| We walk from 30 - 45 minutes. Sometimes Sass does get tired and I carry her for a bit. We always bring her some water too.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Sometimes we will walk about 3 miles with them, sometimes only 30 min, depends on the weather and how i feel. But they love it, they love walking on the grass especially

| be careful w/ the grass if its in unknown areas. Last year I took Laney out walking.. shortly after she vomited and continued for about 24 hrs. The vet said most likely someone has sprayed fertilizer/chemicals on their lawn and it had gotten on Laney's paws and she licked it off when we got home. So now I try to either keep them on the cement or put shoes on.

My Little Man! Donating Member | Oh we love walks! Maxi goes for about 2 miles right now. The spring just started and he will build more tolerance in a month to go for more miles.
