 How Far Do You Walk?
I had always just taken Basil for walks around our neighborhood. My mom & I started walking to lose weight a few weeks ago and there's a beautiful riverside walking/biking trail near her house. I thought that we'd take Baz with us and if he got tired, I'd pick him up & carry him.
We go about 2 miles 4 times a week and he loves it! He's on a harness and leash and probably walks even farther than we do (if you include all the side-to-side and front-to-back weaving that he does). He meets all kinds of new pals like chippies, geese and wild turkeys.
We stop for a five-minute rest mid-way before we turn around and come back and I always carry a water bottle and he drinks as much as wants from my hand. He doesn't seem at all tired at the end. Do you think that this is too far for him? |
