| Just wanted to say>>>> OK, so I've been gone from YT for a while but I am back!!! So here is what's going on. It all started with my daughter thinking that Cody's bangs needed to be cut, next she felt that his beard needed a trim, so he ended up almost with a schnauzer look, no big deal. I decided to take him to get groomed. She asked me how did I want it, I told her just cut him down a bit, because really, his hair was out of control. So with that, I leave him there while I go shopping. She rings my cell to tell me he is ready, I enter the shop and I am looking around for Cody. No Cody. So I ask her, where is Cody? and as she is walking towards me I see this gray and tan dog jumping around like a lunatic and I said, Cody? That was MY dog!!!!!!! my beautiful black and tan yorkie with his luxurious long hair was shaved down to his skin !!!!!!!! Oh was I pissed!!!! So I then became the lunatic!! What the @#$%%^ did u do to him??????? She then replied in her british accent, U dont like it? No I dont @#$%%% like it, He doesnt even look like my dog, so I tell my daughter who is now crying from laughing so hard...(he really does look awful.).check his teeth to make sure it's Cody( his adult teeth are growing in). The groomer then starts saying Oh i feel sooo bad,. So I tell her, You should!!!!!! So i took this dog home and to this day I look at him and think, oh my lord he looks horrible!!! This happened 4/7, I know it's only been a week but how long do you think it will take for his hair to grow back???

She said well I think he looks cute like this! Hes still growing back in! that was in early march. So good luck..and yes sweaters are a life saver!

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Hi this is the first ting iv posted so hope it turns out okay. That situation sounds like a horor to me. Not been able to recognise your own baby. coming back shaved i would have acted exactly the same. How can a dogowner have any peice of mind when a trim turns into a massacre of hair. You have my sympathy. I hope cody looks more like old cody soon |

| I am so sick of reading these stories of terrible groomers. Why can they not just do like they're asked??? I really want to take Lexie and Tucker for their first grooming (I've been doing a bit on my own) but I'm so scared to take them! I don't want to get a shaved naked baby back! Good gracious people have some common sense. I'm this upset about it and it wasn't even my baby!!!

| Poor boy! This too happened about a month ago to Zoe..She still looks pathetic. Her hair is starting to finally grow. He even chopped her head, ear, nose everything...now, not to give this so called groomer any credit at all but a pro for Zoe is that she will be having babies and her hair won't get in the way. From that day on I swore I will never step a foot into another groomer's place and believe me...I won't. It is completely devastating to look at a naked dog that looks nothing like the one own. Zoe and I send our hugs to you! ....she kind of likes the naked boys! hmmmm...I do too!

| Learn to groom your Yorkie at home This is exactly why my grooming video's sell so well. Too many groomers just do what they want and the owners are unhappy. I have been a groomer for 17+ years. I would never shave a dog all the way down without first having a long discussion with the owner and then getting their permission. NOW FOR THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN: Honestly though, I do it a lot when a dog is terrbily matted. I absolutely refuse to attempt to brush out a dog with matts over more than 40% of it's body. This only happens if the owner is not brushing enough. You would not believe the excuses I hear from people...my don/daughter is in charge of brushing...then I ask how old the child is, and I hear everything from 5 years to 15 years old...well, let me tell you a child will not do a proper job of it, so the child is not to blame...another one we hear all the time..."well I had him all brushed out last night) Ya! right! matts do not come out like this over night...tangles yes, matts no...matts take weeks to develope.Bruching out a heavily matted dog is cruel, no other word for it. Cruelty just to satisfy an owners vanity is not acceptable. Ever! |

| I took my Sidney to get her first groom and I told the groomer just to trim her up, especially her beard and bangs because it was getting so long it was in her eyes and mouth. The groomer asked, "do you want her shaved?" I couldn't believe she asked me that. I told her NO NO NO Absolutely not, please don't shave her! She just looked at me like I was crazy. I couldn't believe she asked me that, especially after I told her just a trim. I'm sure your puppy's hair will grow back. From now on just tell the groomer DON'T SHAVE MY DOG like I have to, becuase I guess saying the words "just a trim" doesn't mean anything... |
