Count your blessings. He will find his voice soon enough On the potty training, the spray helped Lucy, but then I switched over the the scented pads and that's what really did the trick for her! As another poster said, Lucy won't go on a pad that already has pee on it so the scented pads worked well for her.

Callie didnt bark until she was 7 months old and she still dosent bark that much except when I leave to go to my moms for a few hours or sometimes if she sees a bird out the window that is very interseting lol but if she barks we usally figure something is wrong because she dosent do it often and we all run to see what it is lol.

We got Tatum when she was 12 weeks old and I didn't even think that she COULD bark. It was actually months before I ever heard her bark. She is almost a year and 1/2 old now and she still hardly EVER barks...only when something really startles her. Her bark is very tiny and her little voice sounds raspy...lol, it's just the cutest thing. She definitely isn't a barker though. All she does is whine whine whine and cry cry cry...like a baby puppy would do. In fact, she still sounds exactly like she did at 12 weeks when we brought her home

Now my other Yorkie (he is a male) is MY BARKER As my hubby always says, he is very vocal LOL

Love

Mine started barking at about 4 months, I was a bit freaked out when he first barked I was like...what is that...Hope you dont have a barker, then you could name it bob, haha bad joke. Well with the pads I don't know because I was happy that mine magically loves to pee on the pad. He doesnt like to pee on the cold floor, which worked out for both of us, the only thing is that he completely destroyed the paper pads, so I had to buy the cloth ones and wash them, but anything for our little fur babies!

Lexie didn't bark until she was 4 months and we got Tucker. He taught her how. Now she's the loudest little thing you've ever heard!

Ittybit didn't bark for a long time...she still doesn't much just mainly when someone knocks on the door and then just 2 or 3 times to let me know someone is there. Its odd tho cause her bark is kind of deep and really loud lol she only 5 lbs so it sounds funny. Not the little dainty bark/yip you would expect.

As far a training..well she was stubborn about it. I would catch her and carry her to her pad. This went on for a month..untill one night i saw her squat down..and i just said I give up. The next day she just started goin on the pads and has for over 2 years now lol. I think she was testing me haha. Shes like that..she does some tricks BUT she will only do them if she sees that you have a treat for her.

Maybe he will bark in afew days or weeks... and otherwise you just have a quiet one hahah No worries..

For the potty training,. every time when he wakes up or have been playing put him or on the potty pads or outside, whatever you prefer..
If he is just laying down and plays and walks away to the kitch or whatever.. please pick him up and put him on the pad or outside..
If he does it outside his pad or in the house where he is not allowed.. ignore it in the first place.. when he does it on the pad or outside.. praise him very well !!!! So cheeer with a nice voice and give him a treat.
So everytime he does it right give him a reward.. its very important..
After a few weeks when he still have accidents in thw house and you caught him doing it.. just say NO and put him or on the pad or outside..
You will see it will work. it takes alot of time in the beginning, but its so much better when he knows where to go

Good luck Priscilla and Snickers
p.s Snickers is 95% potty trained he does everything outside when we go for a walk ,.. he is doing really good ! and he is 5 months..

I mean he makes noises....like he whines about everything....and when he yawn (which is the cutest thing in the world) he makes a noise right before he is finished his good yawn. I was just wandering if this is normal, or if there is something wrong with him. I mean he is still a baby....but I thought they r born knowing how to bark?!?! I also know he is not deaf b/c when we play with his squeaky bone toy....he loves it when we make the bone squeak....thats when he plays with it!!!

I have another question....now I know that potty training a baby yorkie is next to impossible.....but I know there are potty trained yorkies out there!!! I just don't knwo how I am supposed to potty train Gizmo??? We bought some puppy training pads for him to go on.....but he never decides to actually relieve himself on them.....to add insult to injury....he normally goes right beside the training pad!! Which is both annoying as well as cute!!! We have a whistle that we blow wen he goes on the floor....just to distract him from continuing on the floor so we can pick him up and take him to the pad. We then make him sit on the pad for a while and after he is finished sitting on the pad we soak up some of his pee with the pad and let him sniff it....so he knows to go on the pad......I was wondering if we are on the right track with this potty training thing....or if there are different or better ideas about it. Thank very much.

My little Derby was the same way when I first got him. He didn't make a sound. Once he got adjusted to his surroundings he let his little voice be heard....he only barks/chirps like a bird (LOL!) when he is playing with another dog or kitty or if he hears someone coming to the door. I live by myself so I appreciate my little puppy alarm.

I'm so glad to hear that someone else's yorkie makes funny bird noises. I think it is so adorable.
