| Stressful vacation? Next month i will be going away with a girlfriend on vacation for a week. The husband will be home with the dogs. So here's my dilemma: Tinker is a rescue and after 1 year and 4 months, I'm still the only person in the world he trusts. He uses the doggy door, so there's no problem with him going outside to do his business. BUT he's in full coat and it took so long to get him to where he is today, I really don't want to have to cut it. And even though his hair doesn't matt like my maltese would, after a week of no brushing...... I don't know..... Is there a product or something out there to make the hair extra silky and slippery or something? I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions - other than getting his hair cut short? Thanks.

| I am not sure if this would work but what about using a conditioner that needs to be rinsed out and just leaving it in. |

| This may be a good time for your husband to spend some time with Tinker and build some trust between them so it could be a good thing. Can he brush him at least once while you're gone? Grooming is a good way to build trust. One brushing would be better than none. |

It would be great if they would bond while I'm away, but after trying every day for over a year, I don't have much hope that it will happen in one week, especially if I'm not there to "save" him.... I did go away last year soon after we got him (directly from a puppy mill) and it was havoc!!!!! I can't think about it too much, I have a non-refundable plane ticket and a friend who would kill me if I didn't go.
