| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I always thought the breeders were over-worried about some of the legislation, but I just did an about face.

| I think it's extreme to believe that breeding should be stopped altogether. I would not be the person I am today without my dogs. I think many of us feel the same, or we WOULDN'T be here now. Isn't it ironic who is so critical? Of course all of us don't have any intention of supporting puppy mills or irresponsible bybs, but at the same time when you start taking away rights you take away the entire idea of freedom. It will be difficult to EVER stop puppy mills without making SOME laws, but I do not agree with the concept of that kind of society. If I did I would go live in China. JMO. |

| I think there should be a limit on how many litters a breeder or anyone can legally produce in one year...who needs to have 25, 50, 100 litters. What is wrong with 6 or 8? At this point I think there should be a limit on the number of dogs a breeder can own...one guy had 700..give me a break...I vote for 10/15...I know that would really hurt many show breeders, but this situtation is dire!!! AND no importing for resale. |

| It's sad that PETA wants pets gone because it's a known fact that dogs are great therapy dogs for children, the elderly and mentally challenged so without responsible breeders and companion dogs or animals we'd be in a sad world. God created animals for a purpose please remember that. Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

| Just an FYI...PETA has been known to come to dog shows and let dogs out of their protective crates and turned loose so they can get out and possibly get stolen, run out in the street and get run over ect...and this is ethical treatment for animals? GET REAL! |

I cannot see for the life in me why anyone would ever want to have 25 litters a year or even 10. Of course my dogs are in my home and love to sit in my lap and we lay in the floor and play. Its about the dogs for us. Even at shows we are hanging out with the dogs and eating in our room with the dogs ![]() Deana Prestigeous Yorkies | |

| I agree that MOST breeding needs to be stopped but not all. The breeding from backyard breeders, puppymills, and irresponsible pet owners needs to be stopped. But I love having different breeds to choose from, and I especially love the Yorkshire Terrier breed (which is why this forum exists). I get a little disheartened sometimes because it seems like the majority of breeders are unethical, but then I'm reminded that there are great breeders out there too....the ones that truly keep this wonderful breed in existence. And PETA is not about loving animals at all...it's about being fanatical, extremist, control-freaks....

| I've heard the stories too. I don't know how anyone could think PETA loves animals after the terrible things they have done to the very same animals they are supposedly trying to protect

| I agree irresponsible breeders, bybs, and puppymills should not be breeding at all. But to say that everyone should stop breeding is ........well it would be cutting of your nose to spite your face. |
