| Freebie? As soon as my puppy is old enough he will be a stud dog and i was thinking of taking pick of litter and giving it to a friend of mine for free. is this wise or no? |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | It depends on how good of a freind I would think. Best friend, casual friend, etc....

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Make sure your puppy has all the required health screening, it would be awful to give your friend a puppy that had liver shunt. Make sure the female dog has health screening too, and check for STDs even though it is the first time they can pass sexually transmitted diseases that can kill your dog and the offspring.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Since this sounds like the planning stages...you may be interested to know many people looking for studs would rather pay a stud fee than pick of the litter.

They're your puppies, you can give them to whoever you want! But, like Nancy1999 said, please make sure you do all the appropriate health screening before you breed so that you can better the breed, instead of making it worse.

Maybe sell the pup at a very reduced price to ensure they are truly wanted. It sounds crazy but there was a thread on here where a woman gave a puppy away and the very same day they were going to sell the same pup!
