| My best bet is a cat harness, That's the one I used when Koda was little. Congrats & Good luck with your new baby!

| i dont think you should get a cat or ferret harness.. i had this problem.., pebbles was 1 pound and couldnt fit into anything.. anyway.. on www.funnyfur.com they have some small harnesses made of really soft material and they come in a size "teacup" for dogs 1-2 pounds. it fits her really well, perfectly, even!! http://www.funnyfur.com/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=470 that is the one i got, along with the matching yellow microfiber lead... i figure when im done with it someone on here will be more than willing to buy it off me. ive had it for 2 months now and it still fits her with a lot of velcro space left to adjust |

| Susan Lanci makes very very small harnesses - like for 1-2 pound dogs. They are pricey but you said you wanted a good one. Doggie Design makes nice harnesses and also the Gooby Freedom harness is nice and comes in a small size. It will all depend on what size your pup is. I also agree about waiting until the dog is 12 weeks. The thing is, it learns social skills from the mom and litter mates. Things like how rough to play and how to initiate play and not be rude. (Loki is "rude" to other dogs, and that is why - he has has years of training classes but being polite to another dog is not easy to teach like "come" or "fetch" is.) SOME dogs will be have social issue (like being afraid of other dogs or unfamiliar things) if they are taken from mom too early. You might get a dog that will be fine and you might hear about dogs that were fine. But you really won't know until it is too late if that is *your* dog. It's just like kids who aren't ready for kindergarten until they are 6 when others are probably good to go at 4 1/2. It's not meant to be an insult, it's just that even though many puppies do go home at 8 weeks, 12 weeks is better (even for big dogs which rarely happens). 8 weeks might be OK, but 12 is ALWAYS better. That's all. Good luck with your puppy!

| Thanks everyone! I might try one of those, they look really nice. I'm going to get one when it gets closer to the coming-home date. I figured I'd go measure him at 8 weeks and then get something that fits from there and expands...we're not taking him home officialy at 8 weeks but the breeder is having us bring our pup to spend time with the puppies/pick him out at that time so that we can socialize them. I'd like to have a harness by then. sorry about the confusion with my previous post. I didn't fully explain myself- he is being placed at that time but not brought away from his mom fully yet. |

| Puppia makes a really small harness called "Orion Jacket" you can get the xs size, they say it fits 3 lbs, but I have one and it fitted Squeekie perfectly at 1.5-2 lbs (when she was younger, she's 6.4lbs now ). |
