| "Blue" Yorkie-Poo pup with no hair on his ears I bought a "blue" yorkie-poo that was born on 12/3/07. He is completely black but his ears are a bluish/black and they have NO hair on them. There is a small amount of fuzz around the edges but absolutely none on the outer ear flaps. Its not splotchy nor does it have the appearance of any sort of skin condition...just no hair. Is this common...has anyone heard or seen of this before? Is this something I should be concerned about? The vet told me it could be a "side-affect" of cross breeding. He doesnt scratch at his ears or anything. I'm attaching a couple of pictures for you to see...any advise or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

| He is super cute! Congrats and Welcome. I am not sure about the ears and no hair. How old is he? Did you get him from a reputable breeder? Did you see his parents? |

| It sounds like he could be what is called "blue born". Here is a good explanation: http://www.goldenrayyorkies.com/Gene...Chocolate.html |

| I would say that he got a blue gene, I don't know if it's found in poodles at all but it is in yorkies. Maybe since he was mixed with a poodle that is why only his ears have no hair?

| This is daphne she is Milo's (he is my avitar) half sister same yorkie dad Milo had an apricot poodle mom and daphne had a black poodle mom. Notice the ears, and the hair on her. They are both Yorkie Poos and look totaly different. Hope this helps. |
