Animal Smiley 019 "Blue" Yorkie-Poo pup with no hair on his ears

I bought a "blue" yorkie-poo that was born on 12/3/07. He is completely black but his ears are a bluish/black and they have NO hair on them. There is a small amount of fuzz around the edges but absolutely none on the outer ear flaps. Its not splotchy nor does it have the appearance of any sort of skin condition...just no hair. Is this common...has anyone heard or seen of this before? Is this something I should be concerned about? The vet told me it could be a "side-affect" of cross breeding. He doesnt scratch at his ears or anything. I'm attaching a couple of pictures for you to see...any advise or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
