| Someone asked about having a welcome section a couple months ago and Admin wants newbies to post in the general or my yorkie pics to introduce themselves instead.

| I PM'd Admin about a separate section for "Intro's" and they think it is better for newbies to post in the General Discussion section. But they like the idea of the Welcoming Committee and want me to let them know what we plan on doing. I want to send out PM's (to everyone who wants to help) of a list of the newest members 2 times a week. If everyone can pick a few people to reach out and send a little PM to say hi and offer help using YT, it would help. I already have 1 newbie PM'ing me and I am helping her with where to post certain things. We also need to make it our goal (for each time/day you're on YT) to find 5 no or low repsonse threads that have been pushed back. Just a simple "Bumping this up for you!" post will do. I know a few us have already started this and I've seen each thread I bumped finally be answered. If we each do 5 of these each day, it will really help! Any more ideas you have, feel free to PM them! I also added YT Welcoming Committee to my siggy, so if you all want to do that as well, go for it! Thanks!

| I will help where I can, no great skills but will try to welcome new members. I often try to do it, but this board is getting sooo big It took a while for me to feel "at home" too. I think you have to respond to posts in order for the "older' members to get to know you. I found that did help in the beginning. I also have to post in the middle of the night when everyone else is up and about If I happen to be away for a few days, it's bedlam trying to catch up with the hundreds of posts - but it is fun.Sheilagh

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | A word about "bumping up", this sometime just makes new threads go down the list faster. If a post is worth bumping, why not take the time to answer it. Not all posts require 10 answers.

| If its a question that you can't answer, but someone else can, then that is why you bump it. It doesn't make it go down the lister faster, it brings it up to the first page.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | No, I mean the other new questions go down the page faster, and then you will need to bump them and so on and so on. Do you understand?

| I understand, but once the question is answered it doesn't need to be bumped any more. So the cycle doesn't keep going and going. A lot of us like the idea, but everyone has their own opinion.

| Yeah. If the question only has one response, but it was answered, then there is no need. But there are a lot of questions that have no repsonses or they just have a few posts that say, "sorry, can't answer, but good luck" or whatnot.

| I just wanted you all to know that I am new here and have never felt unwelcomed. I do try to watch what tones I use and what I write because I don't want to be taken the wrong way. I can be funny and sarcastic trying to be funny. I do love this site because it has opened my eyes real wide to the breed. I had no idea about some of the stuff that happens with breeders and pet stores. I am a honest good hearted person and I always trust that others are the same. I have learned that some people are evil and are cash cows. I hate people like that. I am glad to have found this site in my search for the right baby for my husband and I. Thanks for trying to help everyone!!!
