| freaking out just a little about nose color okay, i just read the sticky about growth, coats, colors, etc... and it says that after 21 days, a yorkie's nose should be completely black, and that if it's not, then you've got a serious problem... well, Kash is 3 3/4 months old, and his nose isn't completely black. it's black on the top and some on the bottom, but in the very center , his nose is more brown... it's not gray like the sticky mentioned... but it's still not completely black. does anyone else have a yorkie without a fully black nose?? should i be worried that Kash's nose isn't or do you all think it's normal? i've attached a picture of him... thanks!

| I remember reading that too.. it doesnt say what exactly would be wrong with the dog.. its kinda vague. i have seen pictures of dogs that have kind of black/pink nose... they seem to be lighter in color.. like superduper blonde.. (very pretty actually) maybe it just has somehting to do with proper/inproper pigment development. i dunno. im just guessing.. im sure somoene will come along that knows more |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've read something about loss of pigment and beware of sunburn, but that's all I can remember. Sorry, I'm sure someone here can help if it stays on this page long enough.

| I am not sure about this. My yorkie has black on the top part of his nose and brown in the middle too.

| my dogs use to have a similar problem (not yorkies tho) and it was because we were feeding them in metal dishes as opposed to ceramic. when we switched their noses went back to normal... i dunno it was weird...... the vet had us switch dishes. this happened about 10 yrs ago and really havent thought about it since but hope it helps. i dont quite recall all of our circumstance though. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I noticed this with Reese....did some on line research and learned it happens during the winter months to some. It'll turn black again in the summer months when he's more exposed to the sun...like a little nose sun tan.

| Our Toto's nose had always been all black until 2-3 yrs. ago and she had a spot turn brown just exactly like your babies'. We took her over to Denver to Alameda East. They said that it's called "snow nose" and it's just a change in the nose pigmentation and absolutely nothing to worry about. Dr. Katman said all hers' do that ... mostly in winter. She said it might darken in the summer or it may just remain as is ... it's still a little "snow nose"!!

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I also read that it was something about the pigment. YT member Dina_Nichole's Yorkie Paisley has this too I think
