| KC Papers Hey, Tia came with 5 generation Kennel Club (UK equivalent to AKC) papers. It basically says lots of different names of her foreparents. I don't understand it fully though, how do I get Tia on the papers, do I need to have been sent something through from the breeder? How do I know that the mention names are Tia's family? Also what does it mean when a name is written in red? TIA

| While I don't know the answers to your other questions due to your location, the RED names everywhere signifies champions on the pedigree. |

| Tia's name doesn't go on the Pedigree form, except along the top to say which puppy it's for. The pedigree proper begins with her parents' names as the same pedigree applies to all the puppies in the litter. Did the breeder write it out herself or is it one of the official ones from the Kennel Club? Both are valid. If it's one that the breeder wrote out herself, & you don't trust that it's correct for your puppy, you can easily get confirmation by applying to the Kennel Club for their official copy. There's an option to get one of these when you apply for transfer of ownership, on the registration form that the breeder should have given you. The current fee is stated on the form. The red names denote Champions. Last edited by Meggie; 03-14-2008 at 12:22 PM. |
