My boyfriend and I just got our first yorkie baby boy (Dolce) on Tuesday! My boyfriend has had a pappillon (i hope I spelled that right) a couple years ago, but all of his other dogs have been either rottis or chow chows. He likes small dogs but wanted a maltese real bad. After we took in an abused/neglected Yorktese which we gave to his brother after extensive care and work, I finally broke him down to get a yorkie. Now he is buying clothes for the baby boy, and is even going to work part time while we have spring break this week just so he can be with the dog (any chance he gets to work more hours while he doesn't have class he does so this is really out of the ordinary). He keeps saying "how's my baby doing", and I have to keep reminding him that it is OUR baby, and I use to be his baby before the puppy came along! I guess that's what I get for letting the puppy stay at his house until we move in with his brother in 3 months! oh well, we're one happy little family, and everyone that has a yorkie knows what I mean! they are not just dogs, they are family.

i know the feeling...hehe...its like i have been replaced by an expensive yorkie...hehe..

out of all my dogs...i have never allowed any of them to sleep in my bed...but the fiancee always have MeiLing on the bed..and now he rather be hugging her to keep her warm instead of me...its so cute but then again i think i am getting a little jealous...hehe

Definitely! My fiancee got Toby for me this last summer, and when I would call him "our dog" he would say "your dog, he will never be ours". Needless to say, the day after we got him, he started refering to himself as "dad" and is definitely more lenient than I. Now when he talks about wanting another dog (he has always wanted a Great Dane) he says he wants another yorkie.

It took me two years to talk Cliff into letting me get Sawyer. he called yorkies yappy little ankle biters. Well how time has changed my dear husband. He can't get enough of Sawyer. He is just besotted with our funny little furface. I just talked him into letting me get a biewer. Last night he even asked me if when I get my biewer, he could have Sawyer! As if!! Sawyer loves him to death, plays with him all evening, takes walks with him, shares anything yummy my husband is snacking on; but come resting time, he is all Mommys. If I leave the room when he is playing, he stops and follows me right away ( drives hubby nuts). I am very happy my husband loves my boy so much, and I really enjoy sharing; as long as my hubby remembers who is the Mommy in this picture

Rascal loves his mama, but he plays with his daddy. He always looks to me for companionship, but when he wants to have fun, his daddy is always there. I don't think my husband would have it any other way. He now wants a girl.
