| One more question, are you home with him all day or do you work? If you work, I would suggest an xpen, where you could put pee pads down, this makes it great at night time too, as then they don't start whining early in the morning..I understand if you have to rehome, but, please try something else first..I truely believe you really don't want to have to do that.. |

| When we were having such issues with Tucker we finally tried letting him sleep in the bed and guess what!?! No potty in the middle of the night and for our sanity no nasty crate and dirty dog to clean up in the morning! Maybe you could try that, then if he does have to go in the middle of the night you will be able to just scoop him up and rush him outside or do like we do and place him on the pee pad. I LOVE pee pads! My husband has to take our golden retriever outside to pee whether its freezing or blazing hot and when my yorkies have to pee they either walk to the pad on their own, or I place them there Good luck! |

Please excuse me if I repeat myself. I am home during the day and have Logan on a strict schedule of eating, drinking, playing, and pottying. He goes outside first thing in the morning to potty. He comes inside and has the opportunity to eat and drink, but he rarely does. He usually doesn't want to eat until lunchtime. After he eats and drinks, however, we go outside to potty again. When I'm home I do not let him roam around the house because he still poops in the house. As I mentioned, I do keep him in the kitchen with me when I'm in there fixing a meal or cleaning. Even after going potty outside, he will sometimes poop in the kitchen when I turn my back. Then he starts to eat the poop as if he is trying to hide it, knowing he should not have done that. He never voluntarily goes into his crate. Our last dog did. He loved it. Logan doesn't complain about being in his crate (unless he needs to potty), but he doesn't show a preference for being in there when he doesn't have to be. We go out the same door every time we got outside to potty. I always tell him we are "going outside to potty." I don't know what a belly band is. Is it a dog diaper? | |

| i totally know how you feel..... i'm in an apartment, and she hates her crate and would NOT stop barking when she was in it at nights. i didn't want to disturb or make my neighbors mad at me so i ended up letting her sleep with me. the only time she's in her crate is when im at work or at classes. basically, it was leave her in her crate barking and wake up to a pee and poo in her crate. at five months she still pees and poos in her crate when i'm gone. i think she does that to show she really hates it! she really is doing a good job with piddle pads in the bathroom.... i hope to try the pee bells when it gets nicer. i'm on 5 months and hope to get him better trained about going to the bathroom.... seriously, how come my yorkie still hasnt learned to go in her crate? why are they giving us so much trouble!!

| When we took Logan on a trip with us a couple of months ago, we used a playpen and pee pads at night since it would have been difficult to take him potty in the middle of the night at the hotel (which I dont' think even allowed pets). That worked well. But we were afraid that if we used pee pads at night and then tried to get him to go outside during the day, Logan would get confused. But I'm thinking about setting up the playpen in our bedroom and putting pee pads down at night so I can at least get some sleep. Then I will continue training him to potty outside during the day. When the weather is bad (we've had a lot of rain storms lately) or too cold, it's difficult to exercise Logan outside. What do you think about the pee pads in a playpen at night idea? |

Some people with unneutered dogs use them when the dogs are in the house. They should not be used as a diaper. They don't really teach anything, they just keep the house cleaner.

| My Feather is almost 11 months old and still gets up one or two times a night. The tiny girl I had before her never slept all night in 12 years. Welcome to the club |

| a lot of people train them to use pee pads and go outside. Mine are strictly pee pad trained, but, when it's nice out, I do take them out to the back yard and let them run at night...they will still pee and ocasionally poop out there..I think the pads would be worth trying at night, at least you will get some sleep |

| 12 years? Oh, my. I've got the playpen set up next to our bed, so tonight Logan will not only be next to me but also have a place to potty in the middle of the night. Keeping my fingers crossed it works! |
