| My Dogs Flooded My House! Imagine my suprise when i get home, and hear water running. i had just went to mcdonalds to get my FREE mcskillet burrito (today and tomorrow!) and had not been home for a few hours. when i got home, i immediately ran to the bathroom, to discover water AT LEAST 2 inches deep in the bathroom, flowing into the bedroom. we have wooden laminate floors, so i freaked out -- grabbed the mop and every towel i own and started cleaning it up. My dogs are rather big shelties, so the water was only above their feet, and thankfully i had brought Sophie (she goes EVERYWHERE with me) along with me. The dogs had jumped into the bathtub, successfully knocked the drain stopped into the drain and a wash cloth has been sucked into the other drain, thats supposed to stop the over flow. -sigh- i think they were plotting.. sorry this is off topic, but its not a good way to start my day. |

| Oh My!! Bright side..... At least you hadn't made it a day of shopping, manicures, pedicures, haircut and been gone for more than just a few hours. Maybe they were trying to suprise you by taking their own baths. I am only kidding. I feel horrible for what you had to come home to. I do not like overwhelming messes like that. ~hugs~

| a few months back I was washing some stuff in the bathroom sink and forgot and flooded the bathroom/bedroom. the carpet was soaked about 4 feet of it. the vanity held the water and it filled 3 drawers ruining all my curling irons, blow dryer, flat iron etc. Luckly my makeup was in a waterproof bag... I spent HOURS cleaning up the mess ...and i couldn't blame it on anyone but myself. DH laughed his butt off.

| I have four shelties, so giving them a bath is an all day task. soo much fur. i guess they were tying to get back at me for bringing sophie home. strange as it may sound, they have been acting odd since i brought the puppy home. the mess is all cleaned up, but now -- i have a bath tub full of towels to wash on sanitary cycle. and a ruined ipod -sniff- |

| i wasn't home but i'm assuming that they jumped into the tub and turned it on. my knobs are easy to turn on. but like i said, i wasn't home to see them turn it on so your guess is as good as mine. |

| They do seem to know when they have done a "no,no." Shelties are so smart it may have been revenge. I love Shelties and to have four of them, WOW! Our neighbors have an absolutely beautiful but neurotic one.

| Oh no! I agree...NOT a good way to start the day! My cats turned on the water in our "casita" once.....they normally lived in the main house, and my birds lived in the casita~ but I had to go to Hawaii for my dad's heart surgery and my dh was going to be out of town, and he didn't want the petsitter (who he didn't know) in the house, so I had the cats in the bathroom of the casita. There was a big double sink vanity that they liked to jump up on and the female is always rubbing up against things, and this day, she decided to rub up against the faucet, and turned it on (after the petsitter had left for the day). My petsitter called me in the morning to tell me the room was flooded .....talk about not a good way to start the day!!! My dad was in surgery, I was 2000 miles away, my husband was out of town on business, and he had to drive all the way home, take all the cages and big plants and everything out of the room and wait for the cleanup people to come and do their thing . He wasn't very fond of any of my animals (luckily, the petsitter got them all out and to the vet's to board), but I thought he was going to blow a gasket. I had to shut my phone off for about 3 days . By that time, he'd cooled down enough to be able to understand him . Oh, and I intentionally left out the part that I had the drain closed off in the sinks b/c I'd read it was 'bad feng shui" It's never a good thing when something floods . I hope you didn't sustain as much damage as we did!
