| Hello, I'm new here! Hello everyone, I just got a tiny little yorkie for Valentine's Day and she is so cute! Her name is Ginger, she is 3 months old and weighs 2.1 pounds. I am still working on getting pictures posted but should have some soon. I was wondering how much yorkies typically eat? She eats very well and I want to make sure that I am not over feeding her. |

| Welcome to YT! How much you feed her really depends upon the food. Check the bag for serving size information by weight. I also fed smaller meals more often when Gizmo was little.

| Welcome to you and Ginger! When Bella was a baby she was always hungry. She scarffed down food faster than i could turn around. I fed her 3 small meals a day. At about 8 months she kinda slowed down and then I started feeding her 2 times a day. I was always so worried I was overfeeding her. The doc told me to keep doing what i was doing because you could not see her ribs but you could feel them. Check with the package as recommended by someone before me. |

| Thanks everyone! I am letting her free feed now but she only gets 1/4 cup each time I fill her bowl. Which right now is only twice a day. I just wanted to make sure that if I fill her bowl 3 times a day it isn't too much. I have an older chocolate lab also. She only gets 1 1/2 cups of food twice a day, so when Ginger starting eating so well I was a little worried. But... They get along great and are so funny together! |

| Welcome to YT! That is awesome that you have a lab and a yorkie! I bet they are a cute pair! You better figure out a way to post pictures! I think you would be ok feeding 3 times a day. Puppies will take all the nourishment they can get, so as long as you are feeding them something good, then let them chow down! It is just important that they have plenty of strength to grow. Best of luck on the new pup!!!
