| Minimal invasive spay surgery ??? I posted this awhile back in the health forum. I wanted to try it over here, since in a month it will be time to get some surgery done. If you can help, please reply or pm. Has anyone had this done on their female? I have 2 Mini Schnauzer girls that I need to get spayed and I am looking for a vet that does this type of surgery near Atlanta Ga. It could be in Ala, Fl, SC, Tenn,NC, or Ky. I have found a place in Texas, but that is to far away. If you are not familiar with this, it is where they make a couple of 3/8 inch incisions, insert camera, lazer scapel, minimal tissue damage, fast healing.Vets have started doing this type because of less trama on the dog. Just like in people the technique is filtering down to the pet world. If yall know any vets in the South that do this, I'd appreciate the info. My daughter has a Yorkie and I know that Yorkie owners believe in taking care of their little ones, so I thought I'd ask over here. David |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Brooke she is talking about laproscopy. Not sure about vets where you are locally but this is pretty much how it's done on the regular. The only other way would be when they do a c-section. Lulu had hers done that way and she was feeling better the following day. Very small puncture for the tools to work in.

| Hello,, i'm in Texas and our vet does Laser Surgery,, i've had 2 females spayed there,, my Cricket who was maybe 3 pounds and well over a year old when she had her spay surgery,, I opted for the Laser Surgery,, and it was miraculous!!! her surgery took place around 10 am,, they called me all the time,, telling me how things were going,, about every hour,, and around 2 pm when they felt it safe for me to come get her,, i did,, brought her home,, put her in the playpen with her bed and puppy pads and food and water and toys,, all her comfy things,, so she wouldnt hurt herself,, SHOOT!! she only had a TINY PINK mark on her little belly,, looked like a pink magic marker on her,, and pale pink at that,, there were a few tiny stitches,, you could hardly see,, (which she removed the very first night),, but she was fine,, SCARING me half to death for days, ,playing ,, jumping as if nothing had happened after the morning following her surgery,, our Daisy on the other hand recently was spayed ,, at the same vets,, but i didnt opt for the laser as she is a big girl and should be fine with normal surgery,, i tell ya,, i was wishing i'd gone ahead with the Laser for her too,, it was amazing the difference in their recovery time,,and the look of the incision initially,, my opinion, ,if you can,, GO LASER!!!
