| Hair Color Changes I would like to ask at what age does the gray/platinum hair start to come out on the rump of the yorkies body. My girl is going to be 8 months in August and she has the golden color on the face and some gray/platinum on the neck and her underbody but she is still black on the top rump of her body. Please anyone who can help it will surely be appreciated. |

| I was wondering the same thing about Sophie. She is also 8 months old and she is still black. She has very little silver on her shoulders but it is under the black. She still has quite a bit of black on her face. Here is a pic. I would like to see a pic of your baby to compare the color of Sophie. Is your baby this dark? |

| Wow, Katia is 3 months and her gray is coming in nicely on the top of her head and the middle of her face. I guess they all are different.

| Gracie is almost 12 months and she is still as black as can be on her back and rump. Still has a tiny bit of black on her face and the top of her head is grey and now some of the tan is coming in. Who knows. I have seen babies three months old that have the pretty silver/gray hair all over.

| It's crazy how widly different yorkies are. Bailey is 6 months old and his head is already all silver/gold (has been for months now) and his back is now starting to change to the 'blue' color. I always look at his roots and they're turning silverish... Crazy because I've always heard that it usually takes up to 2 years for their backs to change if they're going to |

| I posted this picture recently but just thought you might like to see it. This is Tinkerbell at 6 months old. She has been breaking that silver color since she came home as a pup. All yorkies seem to be different. I can't wait to see how Tinkerbell turns out. |

Yet Gabi's head is completely gray and his body has black and some gray in it. Also his face and ears have a little tan.

| I just recently started noticing a few hairs in Rika on her back are not black anymore. She's 16 months old but I doubt she'll ever be completley gold and blue. I'm thinking (and hoping) she'll stay dark. I also keep her cut super short, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but it seems that everytime she gets her hair cut she comes back with different colors in her. lol

| Baxter took forever. He is steel blue. He stayed black for a while. I would say around 1 year he had his blue color. Chloe's head is turning-she's 4 months. That's how Baxter's worked too. Her body is black (she's supposed to be steel blue), so we'll see when she gets her blue.

| Thanks to all of you that replied to my question. I gathered that they are all very original in their coloring. There is no pattern of age to go with the changes. I guess some don't even change, WOW. How interesting. |
