| Dark haired yorkies? Hello all! There are SO MANY cute yorkies on this site! I've seen a few that stay black/tan into adulthood. Are there certain breeders that breed them that way? Or does it just happen sometimes? I have a 3 year old yorkie named JoJo, and we are finally ready to get him a brother. I am so excited In all honestly, I don't think he'll be too excited, at first, but I think they'll have a blast once they get used to eachother. JoJo is really light (light silver and very light gold) and I thought it would be neat to have another one with a different color scheme. Anyone know of any breeders that breed darker colored yorkies? I think I have seen some tri-colored ones too. Is this by accident? I am located in CA if that helps. Also....for those who have jealous dogs, did it take them long to adjust to their new brother or sister? Thanks! Any info is greatly appreciated. |

| Ellie didn't come from a really good breeder but she is kind of dark at six-years-old. Her fact is more of gold than a lighter tan. I prefer the darker face.

| Yes the dark faces are so cute. Well they are all cute no matter what. I just thought it would be neat to have two different color schemes going on. Ohh and another question. JoJo is a male, is it better to get another male, or a female? |

| I think either is fine but if you are worried about fighting then you should get a female.

| Yes, it is common for two females to get along and a male and a female. There would be a problem with two dominant males. That doesn't mean it can't work though. You're welcome.

| yorkie colors It is possible to have say 4 puppies in a litter who all have different colors as adults. And yes two dominant males will fight. It would probably be better to get the opposite sex. I have three males (all neutered) and two females and 2of the males fight. |

| Well JoJo is pretty dominant. I guess I should definitely get a female. |

Mom to Marty & Maddie Donating Member | Both of my babies are black/tan. They are super cute. (You can click the links in my siggy to see pics if you'd like.) It took less than a week for them to be best friends when we added Maddie to our family. Marty was fine with it but Maddie wanted to make sure that he knew SHE'S in charge. LOL! Just watch out during meal times and with the toys. That's when they got a little feisty, but overall it was a pretty smooth and easy transition. Adding another is fun and exciting and they'll be best friends in no time! |

| OMG they are so cute!!! So how did you end up with black and tan ones? Was it on puspose? Is it safe to say if the mom and dad are black and tan the babies will be too? |

| Certain breeders do breed very dark Yorkies. I know Parquins Yorkies in Florida are all very, very dark. That's just one example that I happen to know about. My little one, Matty Lu, is 1/4 Parquin.

| By the way, there is a well-known, reputable breeder right here on YT who has an adorable dark female for sale right now. You might want to PM her about little "Belle". She's adorable and I believe that they live pretty close to you. Her YT name is tiggerr36792. Give her a shout!!

| I use to have only male dogs. (Two at a time) and they all got along great. I currently have one of each and my female is more dominant then my male, but she was here first!
