Allergy tests/shots/meds Got an appointment for Kelli to go to the vet this evening. Her previous owners said that every year she would get an allergy shot (depo? don't know how it's spelled) in April/May to last her all summer with her allergies...she didn't get one this year because we weren't aware of it. The vet said it might be food allergies (we discovered that there's corn starch in her food and corn flour in her favorite treats) - it, of course, could be a number of things and I'm worried about cost. I just want to make sure we can do this and get everything squared away, I don't want her to be sick She seems fine, but she's still got the bumps and the vet's of course worried of her scratching so much that she bursts them and they leave open sores. Many people have told me that allergy tests are expensive....I'm worried. More worried about her, and would do ANYTHING under the sun for her, but it still scares me alot as to HOW expensive is expensive. Her cortisone shot when she had a pinched nerve was $80...if I'm remembering right. This waiting is torture!! We have to wait 6 and a half more hours before we know what exactly's wrong. I just want her to not have the itchies and to have our minds eased in the process. I feel horrible

Allergy meds www.drsfostersmith.com has allergy medicine and shampoos that you can maybe try first. The prices are not too bad. Hope your furbaby feels better.

Thank you so much!! Just an update on Kelli... Kelli had her appt yesterday and some of her little bumps are infected The vet said it's not a food allergy, but rather an outside pollutant she thinks. Could have been either airborn or something that she may have come in contact with (she LOVES to roll in the grass...and always rolls neck first, which is where the bumps are). She's on three meds, an antihistimine, prednisone and an antibiotic (I'm sure I spelled the first two completely wrong lol)...the antihistimine we have to keep giving her until it's cool out, so the rest of the summer. They're going to call us in 5 days to check on her and make sure she's doing okay. She hasn't bit/licked her front or back legs since we started giving her the meds last night....I just wish the little bumps would clear up as fast, I feel so bad that we waited even a day to take her. She said it might have even been a reaction to the different shampoo we gave her, it's just so hard to tell.
