Found Yorkie On my way to work today, I almost hit a yorkie running across the road. I stopped and picked him up, I have called all the local radio stations, posted about 40 flyers, and since I work for the local newspaper, will have a found dog ad running tomorrow. He appears to be freshly groomed. I took him to the vet and they checked for a microchip, but no luck. He had no tags or collar. They estimate him to be approx 4-5 years old. I haven't brought him in the house yet, as he is marking EVERYTHING in my garage. I feel so bad for him, being lost and scared. Everyone say a prayer that Little Mister and I can find his owner.

Oh his mommy must be so frantic! Thank God he found you, so you can take care of him and try to find his rightful owner! Most people wouldn't, so a thousand thumbs up to you

Poor Thing Someone has to be frantic looking for him. Did you call the local animal shelter? I found a cairn terrier one day, only 4 months old, I immediately called the local animal shelter to let them know. I brought him inside gave him a bathe and then put him in one of my babies kennels. I really didn't want him around my babies because you never know what he might be carrying...anyway I received a phone call from his owner a few hours later, she had let him out to potty and someone had left the gate open.

He is not neutered. He is really a sweetheart. If it weren't for the fact that I have three dogs already, I would keep him if we couldn't find his owner. My husband gave a resounding NO to that idea. In the event that we don't find his rightful home, I have lined up two different people who would be good families. One is my sister, and one a girl I work with who's whole family has yorkies, her's recently passed away @ 14 years old. I would definately prefer to find his real home, but given no other option will make sure he finds a "forever" home. Here is a pic of him. Don't particularly like the cut he has, but obviously he has been groomed fairly recently. Ignore the garage floor, we are in the process of scraping the old paint to redo it.

Actually I made about 30 phone calls @ work today. Called all the radio stations, all the groomers and vets in the area. Called local animal control, and ran the ad. There is a vet right down the road from where I picked him up, went there first to see if maybe he had escaped, but they did not recognize him. He stayed there all day while I was at work just so I could make sure he was ok before I brought him home to be around my dogs.
