| 2 more days until i get my baby I cant wait to go pick up my 12week old puppy.Im sooo exceited.I got him a bed, toys, clothes,i can go on... I hope he will be ok on our ride back home, its 2hrs.The breeder told me i should hold him in my lap, because they get car sick.Is that true? Im going to wait until he is 16weeks and then take him to the vet for a check up and the rabbies shot.I will be sad leaving him for 6hrs mon-fr.I hope he will be ok.Im going to leave him in his playpen with toys, food and water.is it safe to leave him in the pen then the crate?i have so many questions about the puppy,i want the best for him.I even read a whole helpful book about yorkies. im so glad i found this board.I will post pictures of him on sat. |

Congratulations, I was going through this just a few months ago waiting for my Jeter, it was so exciting! You might want to see if your breeder has a contract regarding the puppy's health. some grantee their dogs only if it was seen by the vet by so many day's after the purchase.

| congrats on your new baby and leo is a great name and i also wanted to mention that i totally agree with the person who suggested asking if the breeder had a health contract ... most contracts i have seen state that a new puppy must be checked out by your vet within 48-72 hours otherwise they will not "cover" any health problems down the road just something to consider

| Sadie threw up on the way home. ( We had a 3 hour drive ) We thought it was car sickness but then I read they throw up when they are nervous or upset. They can also pant..Sadie did and it scared the crap out of me! I think it was upsetting being taken away from the only home she ever knew... Bring paper towels, puppy wipes, and a plastic bag for trash. Bring water for your puppy and make sure you find out what kind of food it eats. The breeder might give you a small amount to get you started. Our breeder gave us a blanket with the litter mates smell on it. Ask her about this... It would help on the ride home. ( even if you bring an old shirt and ask the breeder to pat the puppies with it so it smells like them...Sadie really settled down when we gave her the blanket. Have fun, keep your puppy quiet the first day or too... Sadie took 24-48 hours to really feel at home. once she warmed up there was no stopping her! Congrats on your new baby...we want to see pics!

| Usually they start panting right before they throw up...but, I've never had a puppy get sick on trips home, except the one.. |
