| Tapeworms! I've noticed Rylie scooting his butt some recently..and today I caught him scooting across the carpet...YUCK! After I got onto him, I looked under his tail and saw dried tapeworm segments YUCK YUCK YUCK! I immediately called my vet who was booked up today, but was able to get into Banfield as a walk-in at 3:00. I took Rylie and Lacy in for fecal samples...I hadn't seen any on Lacy but wanted to make sure she was clear. So they both got examined and had fecals done. Lacy's was negative for any parasites, and Rylie got sent home with some pills for his tapeworms. UGH..worms are SO gross Banfield is awesome - since I'm a vet student, I got free exams and office visits for both of them and 15% off the fecals and medications..I thought that was great! Now I feel like I need to vacuum my whole house like crazy and wash everything

| Actually you can see the segments in their "poop" and looks like pieces of white rice. Look on your bedspreade or where the pups sits because you will probably find dried segments and they look like light brown dried rice. I will never forget when Sophie was young, and after the medication passed a tapeworm. I thought I would never forget what came out of her stomach. It is icky and makes you feel so bad to think that "thing" is there.

| most dogs get tapeworms from swallowing a flea that has one inside of it. Rylie eats EVERYTHING so it doesn't surprise me...this is actually the third time he's had tapeworms in his life (he's 3 years old). Lacy had them when I got her as a puppy and never got them again. Fleas are always bad in Texas...haven't seen any recently, but I'm putting flea meds on them tomorrow after their bath just to be safe. I guess a dog could get tapeworms from licking another dog's butt and swallowing one, eating poop that has tapeworms, or swallowing a tapeworm that has fallen onto something and is still alive

One of my cats had tapeworms once. I won't go into detail about how I found out she had worms but it grossed me out so bad I put her out on the lanai, washed my hands, changed my bed sheets, vacumed the whole house and swept my kitchen floor. Guess I went a little overboard huh? Thats really nice that you can get free exams and OVs from Banfield.

| Icky. Franklin JUST got over having tapeworms, roundworms, AND hookworms so I feel your pain. I washed my hands so much they started to crack and bleed. Needless to say, I use a LOT of lotion now. Good luck with everything!
