| I tried to hold off, but I couldnt resist and I checked out the website! I feel so sick about what I saw, a puppy factory to say the least. Look at all those different breeds and all those cages! It's so sad to see someone mass producing puppies like that, I cant believe anyone would defend them and think that its the OK thing to do!

This forum is a great one because everyone does their best to respect all views and opinions without getting overly judgmental and cruel. I am obviously outnumbered here and I respect that. I do not believe I am alientating anyone with my viewpoint, and if I do alienate someone then they were not truly listening to what I was saying.

| Kim, I honestly don't understand why you think it's okay for dogs to live their entire lives like this. I think of Gus as a beautiful gift that I am extremely lucky to have been given. It would break my heart to think of his parents living in that situation. Is that the thanks they get? A few others have put it perfectly...it's not good enough for our dogs, why is it good enough for those dogs? If someone on this site said they were sending their dog to a place like this we would be outraged and falling over each other to save it. To me it just looks like a prison - maybe cleaner then some - but still a prison. Prisoners are allowed to go outside and socialize with other inmates but they still would rather be anywhere else. I don't mean to offend you and you have every right to your own opinion but I just don't get it.

You always make me feel better. I was responding to what Tara posted above. I didn't really think it was the case but felt the need to respond. (I know...it's a problem I need to work on...responding or reacting that is...I AM trying...really I am!!!!)

YT Addict | Common Sense Please! I rarely post, but i had to put my 2 cents in! I am sick of people defending puppymills, clean or not. He's making a lot of money off these "hybrid" dogs (YES, the same MUTTS you can find at your local pound), plain and simple!

| Call me stupid or whatever but I kinda agree with SoCal. Just because an operation is large doesn't make it bad. We have seen puppy mills and they don't have half the professionalism this place seems to have. I love my dog and hate puppy mills like the rest of you but just because a bunch of emotional people call something a puppymill doesn't make it so. What is so special about the breeders we got our dogs from? Just because they weren't large scale doesn't make the dogs any healthier than these dogs. I don't want to bring on any new emotion but it seems that some of you simply don't respect another's opinion. Just because Wal-Mart is the biggest corporation in America doesn't mean the stock boys should make 120k a year.

| A clean puppymill, a decent puppymill, an "allright" puppymill, the best puppymill on this planet, a loving puppymill or just a plain puppymill.. at the end of the day, this place is still a puppymill regardless of how good they think they are at the filthy business. It's easy for someone to add adjectives to any title of their company or any description to make their business sound better. Who doesn't do that? That's great marketing. Do you know how many "Best Restaurant in Town"s there are this city or how many "Voted #1 in the metroplex". Words are just that-- words. Anyone can use them and anyone can twist them to make themselves look better. What I am surprised at is the pictures. I do not want my dog to be living on a dirt floor in the heat. I do not care if there is one person watching over them or 100 people watching over them. The point remains as solid as rock-- they are laying on dirt floors. For the benefit of the doubt, perhaps they were just out there during the day to play and then brought in to sleep. Even then, I will say.. I do not want my dogs playing on dirt floors. I do not want them in cages and I do not want my male stuck in a cage all day with 5 females in hopes that he will mate with atleast one of them. That's ridiculous. I do not care if he can answer his FAQ's with the best answers ever heard by mankind because he is only answering them with mere sentences. Who is to believe him? Horrible breeders scheming people out of money also have the ability to make themselves look like the gentle giant, don't they? They try to persuade you that they are a one-of-a-kind breeder when after the transaction, they may be the most horrible person you have ever met or will ever meet in your entire life. I cannot begin to fathom someone trying to defend puppymills. I do understand opinions and I respect everyone's opinion. I'm just shocked because those pictures are so blunt and straight-forward. A loving person will not own that large of an amount of dogs and breeds. A loving person definately would not leave them in the heat or laying on dirt floors. They're breeding "All-American" (mutts) dogs and selling them as "designer dogs". They have, pretty much, a field full of cages. Those dogs are just gathering at that fence looking at the photographer as if they wanted that person to take pictures to put down the camera and carry them instead. I guess my point is.. a puppymill by any other name will still be a puppymill. And just as you have the right to say that it may not be a puppymill, we have the right to say that it may be. Honestly, noone will ever know unless you step foot on that property yourself. But to me, in my opinion, those pictures are pretty clear. Even if it were not a puppymill, what type of owner would leave all of those dogs outside in those horrible metal cages on dirt ground. Last edited by natalie; 07-11-2005 at 08:00 PM. |

| Natalie- Well said! I try to respect others opinions too, but this is where I draw the line. I don't respect anyone that thinks these are humane conditions to treat a dog! ITS A PUPPYMILL!!! Bottom Line!

There is just NO comparison...I can't even believe I just read that. Anyone who crates their dogs may be very offended you are comparing them to a Mill enviornment. People who crate their dogs do it for safety or training reasons...their dogs are let out of the crate after short times and receive attention and love...they are part of the family. THESE Mill dogs are never free and will NEVER feel love unless they're taken from that hell hole and sold to the Pet Store - where they sit more in a cage.. and IF they're lucky and not dying of something - they find a nice home. Do you think they ever get Toys in there ? Do they ever just have peace ? No. They don't. There's no such thing as basking in the sun for these animals - every day is a fight for survival and I think dying is an escape for many - no more suffering.
