Boycott I refuse to frequent any establishment that posts a "No Dogs" sign in the window. These are not dogs they are fur babies! I see way too many of these signs lately and I don't like it. |
You know, I love my babies as much as anyone else...I wouldn't have 6 dogs if I didn't..But, I read a very good site today, I should have posted it..The lady said I love my dogs as much as anyone else, but, that's exactly what they are, they're a dog..They have these signs up for a reason..I know a lot of you get upset, because to a lot of people they are their babies, believe me, mine are like my kids too, with my other kids all being grown and gone, but, I do realize they are dogs.. |
I agree with you hha...as much as I love my dear Kaylah, I have to face the fact that she is a dog. I also have to put myself in the shoes of the owners of these establishments who may face discrimination cases when it comes to allowing pets in their establishments. If one were to allow yorkies in their place of business, imagine the complaints and requests they would receive for other larger breeds. If the exception can't be made for all, it can't be made for one...and I must admit I wouldn't feel to comfortable eating or shopping among large dogs/animals. |
It depends...there are health laws so restaurants and grocery stores have no choice but to not allow dogs in. But if it's just a store..like a department store, mall, shoe store, etc...then my dog should be allowed in. I take Lacy most places with me and haven't had a problem |
I think allowing dogs could present a slew of problems because, just stay with me here for a second, another dog attacked a small dog etc and a person had to intervene. Well you know someone would end up suing and probably sue the store owner because they allow animals in the store to begin with. I think our dogs are so small that it does not seem difficult at all but larger breeds would really be a problem. What if there were pitbulls with a gang of teenagers? That would be very intimidating to the other customers along with the workers. I don't think they should be allowed unless people have them in a pocketbook carrier. |
LOL I could see me hauling 6 dogs on my trips...I would take mine to like TSC, but, I can't take one and not the others, so, they stay home and keep eachother company..I may decide to take 2 of the little ones sometime..;) |
I love my furbabies..... and to me they are my babies..... My skin kidos are pretty much grown.... however..... my little nephew is highly allergic to dogs.... when he was less than a year old he had 2 severe allergic reactions to his grandmothers dog.... he did not even touch the dog just being in the same room .... he is 7 yrs old now and is much better but they still cannot even come to visit in my house..... even if a dog has been in the pool and he jumps in he can hardly breathe and breaks out in whelps.... You have to consider there are some people that just can't handle being around animals even when we put them in our purses and try to sneak them in. They have to be very careful and not stay in petfriendly hotels just in case an animal has been in the room.... |
I have to agree hha and kaylah, as much as I love to take my furbabies wherever I go, I check first to be sure it's a pet friendly place. My grandson is allergic to dog, cats, and peanuts, (not yorkies). After seeing his allergic reaction to the above, I wouldn't want to take the chance of making someone that ill because of my thoughtless act. I think that's one of the reasons behind those signs. |
I went to a Nobbies.( NO FOOD it is a party store) at Halloween. we had Pixie and a Lady came up (Just a Customer) She said "Excuse me?" And I said "yes" She said "did you know dogs are not allowed in here..." And I said "Oh really ? I did not see a Sign any Place?" She then proceeded to Chew me out telling me that I was Wrong to Bring "THAT DOG" in to the store. Everyone there and there were a Lot of people because of the holiday was just staring at us.. I told the Lady " If you have a Problem with my Yorkie being in this store take it to the manager." she preceded to do just that... The manager . told the lady." Maybe you should leave you disturbed our customers more than that sweet pup did." The lady then stormed out of the store.... And everyone else was clapping LOL. It was really comical. Oh and No there was not sign that said.... "NO DOGS ALOWED" |

I love my babies, and take them everywhere out here. But, I wont take them to places with food. I also wont take them in places that dont allow dogs. It is more of a legal thing than an anti-dog thing. The owners of the stores are just covering their rear ends, and preventing any dog bites/allergic reactions/dogs ruining merchandise. |
I dont take mine in stores anymore so it doesnt affect me. Jewels gets car sick so I dont take her. Chachi is to big to carry around. I dont see anything wrong with taking small dogs in places that dont sell food though and if I could would |
