| We're back on Merrick too. The thing I like best about Merrick and other foods in the same category is that it's human grade food.

| I googled palatants and found this article that explains a little more what palatants are: http://www.pancosma.com/products/palatants/index.html I think they are just trying to come up with something to add to dog food to make it taste better.....who knows if it will be 'healthy' for our pets. Not everything that tastes good is good. When is hear from people that feed dog food like Science Diet or Beneful I cringe. There are so many dog foods that are just crap but they taste good to the dogs so the owner continue to feed it. Would you let your child just eat chips, french fries and donuts all the time because that is what he liked.....I don't think so? Not only are are poor dogs guinea pigs, we are also. The FDA allows so many things to be added to the human foods that have been proven to cause health problems. Things like genetically modified soy and artificial sweeteners are in so many products. Most of the time we don't find out about the health risks of a additive or 'new' drug until it has caused death or damage. |

| my breeder had her on science diet, i researched and found royal canin, she didn't want to eat the science diet, her coat became nicer once she got on the royal canin, and she still loves it... i know it has corn and wheat, and that they can't digest it, but i haven't had any problems with it, and the prissy picky princess eats it... so Thanks for the input Nikki

| After everything that has happened this past year with the pet food industry, this is just another load of crap. I for one will never feed commercial dog food ever again. Think of the thousands of dogs and cats that have died because of nothing more than greed. And what is a corn based dog food going to do for your dog? Nothing but trouble in the long run. Too many grains are not good. My babies did not like my home cooking, so I have been feeding Canidae with good results thus far. I'm just trying to do the best I can for them and that's all any of us can do. What to feed is really such a personal choice. It's hard for me to tell someone else what to do. I just know what's working for me with my babies. |
