Need good thoughts for Riley tomorrow... - YorkieTalk.com Forums

Tomorrow is the day...he goes into the vet at 7am and he is being neutered...I am so nervous! I know he will be fine but the thought of having to leave him there and him having to be put to sleep to do the surgery makes me sad...but I know that its the best thing for him and hopefully it will make him a little calmer...LOL...I love this little guy to death and it will be very weird to have day to myself without him...! Please keep him in your thoughts for tomorrow...

Sorry i have only ever had females until Max and the coming soon Sam so i cannot give advice on after the neuter but i know with the girls i have spayed they where up and moving as soon as they came home.

I understand your worry... everything will be fine. I've only had females as well, but our vet said the male surgery is much easier and less evasive.

Just give him plenty of love and keep his activity level low at first.

I know exactly how you feel..we just had Gus Neutered and it was the longest day..waiting to pick him up and the house seemed so big and empty!! He actually acted like nothing even happened..when I called the vet's office 1.5 hrs. after the procedure he was up and running around and I'm sure wondering why he was in a pen... Hope all goes as well for your little guy!!

I tried keeping Buddy quiet when he came home. He was quiet on his
own for a day or two, it didn't last long though and he was back to
running and playing. Give him a hug from us,

They said that he will have a cone on when he comes home to keep him from liking the incision...and to leave it on unless he is supervised for 10-14 days until the sutures come out...is that normal? He isn't going to like that too much! LOL

our thought will be with him also. he will be fine

but i know how you feel about leaving him i have 4 other dogs and it was hard, but the all did excelent. and with mine only the first day they looked sad but after that i had to try to keep them quiet and from jumping.
