| Does anyone have a lot of yorkies but doesn't breed? I noticed most people with more than 2 yorkies plan to be a breeder eventually(or already are). I'm just wondering if there are a few of you who own more than a handful just as pets? They are just so darn cute and addicting that I could see that happening to me. Is 4 dogs too many? How do you decide when you're out of control? I feel like people probably do with a gambling addiction! Is it that my kids are getting older and I feel the need to love something else? I feel an intervention coming my way every time I pop on to here and check out the for sale threads. I know this is probably the wrong place to ask for advice on how to stop "looking" all the time.

| I have four Yorkies. I do not breed. I got my first one and low and behold, a year and a half later, I have 4. I have 3 girls and 1 boy and they are all fixed. I am so anal everytime they sneeze that I can not imagine the worries that come with breeding. I was also worried about cervical cancer with the girls, so I went ahead and got them spayed. My last one is my little man Bob. He is the most loving, caring baby boy in the world (at least my world). He is definately a mommy's boy. Don't tell my fiance, but I would LOVE to have 1 more little boy. I went ahead and got him neutered so that he would not display the not so pleasing boy traits. Hats off to those who breed, because without them, I would not have my babies!!

| I have two boys, they were both rescues and all ready came neutered. I have no interest in breeding at all. A good limit to set for yourself is: 1. Do you have enough time to care for another one, while offering others the same attention. 2. Do you have room in your home? 3. Financially, its expensive. Would care of one dog, take away care from another?

| Have Bella and Max and Sam will be coming soon but no way would i ever breed they are all being altered as soon as the vet says they are old/big enough i leave the breeding to the pros who know what they are doing because i wouldn't dare put any of my babies lives in danger by trying to breed them.

| My boyfriends family currently has an assortment of 6 small dog only as pets, ranging from a champion show yorkie, to a geriatric pet yorkie, a couple mutts and a couple poodles. For as long as they can recall they usually have at least 4 small dogs (they occasionally take in fosters) and have never even considered breeding. The only reason they won't spay/neuter is if they are showing, and put em' in diapers to make sure they can't get pregnant or impregnate. And they have a miniture macaw. It's a full house. I think they just like finding puddles around the house. I certainly hear enought warnings to watch my step when we plan on visiting. |
