| We have to register ours here in FL too. The vet sends it in when you get your rabies vaccine but if you're getting the 3 year vaccine it's your responsibility for the 2 year gap. We're also only allowed 3 dogs. The weird thing is you can have unlimited cats. I have never heard of random checks though- that is really scary! I hope everything works out.

| We are 2 over our town's limit, I have 3 of them registered.. my 2 yorkies are not registered. The 3 that are registered are 2 labs and 1 boston terrier, they are outside to potty and the labs are outside alot so I chose to register those three. I think it's ridiculous, and actually i'm forgetting I have a cat so I'm over the "3 domesticated animals limit" by 3. There is one difference here though, I have never heard of animal control going door to door. I imagine they could come if there were complaints but they aren't getting in my house without a warrant.

| Yes, they can go door to door but you DO NOT have to let them in. There is noway they can search your house. If you do not answer the door what will they do? I would think that they will keep going to the next house. I would not answer the door.

I also wouldn't put my dogs in anyone else's name unless it was close family. Doggie DayCare may also be an option. Check the rules on that. In our area if you do rescue/foster home for the local shelter, you can have more than the limit in your home also. Don't know if they would check out if they are yours or just there as a foster home. Good luck with this mess.

| Hi Bebe! I live in West Covina, small world huh? When I registered Peanut they didnt come over to check or anything. I think thats standard procedure. BUT, a friend of mine who lives a block away had someone come to her house and post a notice on her door that her outside dog was not registered. they gave her a date that theyd be back on, and then they came and collected the penalty fee and registered her dog at the same time. Before that incident, I never heard of anyone getting caught around here or anything. Hope all turned out well on your end! Peggy |

| JMO... But don't you think that if there is a limit on the number of dogs that one home can have, and animal control check you out and make you get rid of some of them, then it would generate more problems for the already over populated shelters! These fur babies are addicting and I'm sure many of us have more than we should. |

| You can send your doggies to me ... hehehe... lol... just kidding! I wish I knew a REAL way to help you... But I dont know what you could do... move away... Get as many dogs registered as you can, and then the other ones could be watched by someone, if you have a good neighbor friend... or something... the only other thing I can think of is for you to give one away... and I dont know how that would work out, if you love them... thats quite a bind... But I dont know what else to say. You should get as many registered as you can, thats really important... and then, just explain to them you give them a good home, and your house is clean.. Like someone told me, honesty is the best policy... so just tell them as long as you keep your house clean and their happy, whats the problem??
