| Desirable Yorkie Coloring Hey all, I am looking for a yorkie puppy and was curious as to what is the most desirable coat of a yorkie. Any suggestions on prettiness? Malia |

| Welcome to YT! I think the desirablity of coloring just depends on your personal preference. Some people are drawn to light yorkies that are almost platinum, some love the darker yorkies that stay black and a deep gold and some people love the standard gold/tan and blue and some people like me love ALL the colors!

| desirable color should be total personal preference. I do know that if you want to show, solid colors are disqualified. Otherwise look for some handsome parents and thier children should be desirable to you as well. |

| For a pet, it's all a matter of personal preference. For the show ring, the desirable color is a dark steel Blue and Tan. I prefer the darker colors personally, but I think the lighter ones are gorgeous too!

| Well, I have made a decision, I am adopting a beautiful little girl named Star. She is tri-color, so much so that her head looks like she has highlights. She has a lot of silver. I think she is beautiful! I get to pick her up on Wednesday. malia |

| Ahh... You think that all matters until you put your eye on the right Yorkie... I had a picture in my head of what I wanted... Black & Gold yorkie... I went to a bunch of breeders... I went to go look at this little girl Yorkie about 20 min from my house... It was a little short black & gold Yorkie... The puppy was cute no doubt... Then the breeder had one of her little dogs on her shoulder, that barely had any hair on her legs, and just a tiny little thing, I asked if I could hold her (she was blue & gold) and I fell in absolute love with her... Just holding her fragile little body... She told me that she had no health problems except when she was born she had a staff infection and it caused her hair on her legs and ears to not grow... And... she was born without a tail, and it was checked and the tail is NOT growing inside, so she had a complete bill of health!!! I confirmed this with my vet, and decided this was the little girl I wanted, she was so sweet, playful, long legs, and when she is in grass, she hops like a little bunny ... SO ADORABLE!.... Nobody wanted her because of these reasons, and it was actually these reasons that made me want her... She was adorable, special, healthy, playful, funny, and smart!!! She is SO SMART! Those ppl really missed out!!! Their loss was my gain, because she is the best tempered, best attitude little Yorkie I have ever seen... I instantly bonded with her, and I begged the lady to sell her to me. Roxy was only 2.3 lbs and 6 months old. I got her for 600. But she is priceless to me... Now she is silver with black tips, but I'm sure it will be all silver soon, and she is also gold with black tips. She is the most beautiful & cherished thing me & my boyfriend have. When I'm not near her, I feel so alone, and when I can't help her I feel absolutely helpless... She is my heart. AND SPOILED! lol The point of my big huge long story is... When you find that right baby, none of that will matter... All that will matter is the bond you make with that baby. You won't care about the color after awhile... You'll just care about the little soul of that little baby. Never let a color make your opinion for you, because that might change anyways... its the bond you make with that puppy is important... you'll know when you find the right one... at least I did.

What a perfect way to explain why a certain pet is for you. Your right, you just know. I felt this way the minute I saw Buddy. He was so much bigger than the other's. His eye's drew me to him. They were so beautiful. He completely wanted nothing to do with me but I wanted him! I often thought of what would have happened to him if I did not buy him. I shudder to think. What a perfect decision I made for the two of us. We're bonded at the hip now. Good luck with your new baby. Enjoy every minute. | |
