He is still a baby its gonna take time. You need to confine him when you cant keep a close watch on him. When he does go outside treat and praise praise praise |
aw he's only 12 weeks old. He can't hold it and you can't expect him to know that he's suppose to pee outside only at such a young age. I had just brought my puppy home at that age and she wasn't totally housebroken until 6 months old. |
What method are you using for potty training? I have used either crate training or with my little ones I've used ex pens and pee pads and have had no major issue with pee all over. I still watch them carefully when they are out playing with me though and will be for many months to come. |
I KEEP HIM IN THE CRATE WHEN I CANT WATCH HIM BUT WHEN I TAKE HIM OUT OF THE CRATE, I TAKE HIM RIGHT OUTSIDE. THEN WHEN WE COME IN I LET HIM PLAY AND FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF WITH THE HOUSE, ONLY THAT THE LITTLE BOOGER IS LIKE A FREAKING FOUNTAIN, THE FUNNY THING IS THAT I CANT TELL WHEN HE'S PEEING, I NOTICE THE PUDDLE ONCE HE WALKS AWAY!!! :thumbdown Quote:

He is only 12 weeks...a baby!!! If you are watching him and taking him out so much maybe he has a UTI or something. But please don't get mad at the poor booger, it takes time, and sometimes years....consistency, patience and good rewarding is key. Too belly bands have been mentioned if you are worried about the carpet that is a wonderful idea! |
My Jamie is 5 months old and he still hasn't got it down perfect yet but I know that he will one day. Of course this is partly my fault... lack of consistancy up until now. Belly bands ARE really helpful. At the least they keep me from being afraid that if I let him on the carpet he'll potty. It'll get better! |

Aw he is still a baby, my two are pretty much potty trained, but now and again Coco still has accidents. I always tell myself "you can get another rug - you can never get another Coco" It takes time, but you will get there. Sheilagh |
