Yes, this happend to Nolee. We could not find him. After calling and calling he finally started whining. He somehow got stuck in the recliner. We were not sitting in it. He must have been after his ball or somthing and could not get out. He was ok, but just stuck. Glad Max was ok also!!!

I am glad your little one is ok. That could have been scary. I posted about this a few months back when Kiley got her head stuck under the recliner. I thought she was a goner for sure. We dont recline ours anymore and that is a hard habit to break. I have caught myself several times starting to recline. When this furniture goes, it will not be replaced with anything that reclines. My dogs love to lay under the couch. I want a couch that sits so low to the floor that they cant even get under it.

Oh those darn recliners.. they really are a huge worry aren't they.. when some one sits in mine.. I am always reminding them of the dogs.. some people do not understand how easy they can get hurt..

Last night at bedtime we couldn't find Maxwell. After frantically hunting the house over, he was found trapped under the lazy boy loveseat recliner that had closed on him and MERCIFULLY did not hurt or kill him with the metal springs and bars under there!!! He was fine and didn't even bark, because he probably just decided this is a nice dark place to sleep. I shudder when I think that when my husband got up from watching the game, he could have unknowingly killed or maimed Maxwell!

So warn all of your recliner users to take care when putting the foot rest down. Have you looked under there? Yikes!

Same thing happened when our Annie was a baby....she just sat there till I found her. I took a soft throw pillow and stuffed under there and it worked to keep her out in the future. She is bad about following me into our walk-in bedroom closet when I'm not watching carefully. She just takes a nap until I go looking for her !!! My husband says that's her den.
