Kim good thinking and sorry this happened. Its all good now just know you have to be shaken up after this. Hope they get this guy.

What is the deal with all these people now days and trying to take dogs?

We've all heard of dogs stolen from petshops, yorkies stolen at gunpoint, NOW THIS! NOW it is not safe to take your yorkie out? What kind of craziness is going on in this world??..:eek:

that I'm happy to hear that you and Lexie are ok and what a great job you did holding on to her! It's so sad that this happened... you're one tough lady and I agree that this ding dong shouldn't stop you from what you like to do - be with your baby! You GO Girl!

BTW what is a GSD?

Kim, I'm glad that you and Lexie are safe and sound. I can't believe someone would actually do such a thing. I hope he gets caught soon...who knows if he'll attempt this again in the near future! :mad:

OMGosh!!! Kim, I hope you are fine. And I am glad Lexie is ok too. This is soo very scary and sad to read, that there are people like this out there and it could happen to anyone. I am so overprotective of mine and keep them attached to me at all times and still worry if that is enough. I hope that man gets what he deserves. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I'm just now seeing this! I'm so glad you're okay and that Lexie is safe too:eek: That was quick thinking on your part. I know that the cops always say not to fight and to just give the thief what they want, but HECK NO!!!

I hope they catch the rat bast#rd so he can be charged with assault. Since he was in the store, they should have him on video.

Seriously this story should go on the news! Kim you should call the news, maybe that way police could catch the thug faster plus I think all pet owners should hear this story! I am so glad that you and your baby are safe! I would done the same thing you did. The only time anyone tries to take my baby that would only be over my dead body!

OMG that is so scary!! Thank goodness you and Lexie are ok. I can't belive how desperate people are, I mean really stealing adog in broad daylight in front of petsmart...... I guess pretty soon these poor babies will need to stay home for thier own good.

I agree with this too, that you should try to take a little more action. I hope you pursue assault charges, because petsmart can't charge him with assault without your say so. It might reach a few more people contemplating stealing little dogs and let them know that those of us who own them aren't giving them up without a fight!

I was at the jeep putting my bags and purse in the back, and still had Lex in my arms and just shut the door and was going to open the front door to put her in her car seat, my hand was on the handle when someone grab my shoulder and said "give me your dog" I jerked back thinking if I keep Lex between me and the jeep he couldn't get her, and for some reason in my head I get thinking if he gets her I will never see her again, so I kick him from behind, don't know what I hit, but I kick as hard as I could then he push me into the jeep and I hit the car and lost my balance and a lady saw what was happening and started screaming and the guy ran. I never really saw what he looked like, but we did call the police and hopefully they will catch him. the girl said she saw him in the store and the police was going to get her to look at video to id him. Long story short, we are doing fine, but hang on to your babies. just watch what is going on around you, yesterday I said I would never take my yorkies with me again, but today I will, I will not let one crazy person put me in fear, I will watch more closely what is going on around me, and take max my GSD with me:p Max adores Lex and would hurt anyone trying to mess with her or me, but even if I don't take him, I will be watching everyone very closely. just something that I will do from now on, put a leash and harness on her at all times out, I always hold her, but that way I will have something to hold on to her tightly, the overhauls really did save her.:)

Thank goodness you are both ok and he didn't get Lexie, either. How awful! This is a good reminder for all of us to be aware of your surroundings and to look around before you exit your vehicle, as you walk toward a store, as you exit a store and to look around your vehicle before you approach it. What a sad state this is for decent people who go out shopping!:(

Oh Kim just now seeing this and so glad to hear that you and precious Lexie are OK. You were quick thinking, girl...and I would have done the same thing..cause you know if they get our babies most times you will never see them again....call me crazy but I would fight to the end to protect my Izzy.

OMG I hope she is ok and I know she must be shaken up. I hope Petsmart has video of this man and maybe she can press charges if he hangs around there. It is so sad you have to be so careful where you want to take YOUR OWN dog to.

Kim, I am so sorry that this has happened and I can only imagine how frightened you must have been. I will surely now be even more careful in public with my babies.

OMG Poor babies both of you!! I hope that you both are doing okay...how scary what a jacka**, I hope they catch him! Thank the lord that you both are okay and Lexie has such a brave mom!

OMG!! That is so scary. I\'m glad Kim wasn\'t hurt more seriously and the Lexie is okay.

The other day my daughter and I were at PetCo with little Molly and a lady and man were oohing and ahhing over Molly and asked my daughter if she could hold her and my daughter let her. All of a sudden I got that panicked feeling like "what if they run with her?". Thankfully all was well and the gave her back, but my daughter and I decided that we\'d not let strangers hold her anymore. Especially after hearing this story!!

I haven\'t read ahead, but I hope he has been caught!!!

OMG I\'m so glad to hear both of you are ok. You know I thought I was being to paranoid every time I had her with me. I\'m always looking around me and if someone looks weird to me I just leave. Thanks for posting this I will be extra careful.

This is just so scary! I thought... eh\', it won\'t be such a scary thing because i live in a small town.... that was until my BF\'s mom told me that there was a \'missing\' yorkie notice posted at the vet\'s office. Someone had stollen a yorkie out of a car at our local grocery store. I just can\'t believe it.......
