I don't know if this is known information but I was told by a groomer to never brush your puppies/dogs while in your lap. It helps if you always set them on a table/counter or somewhere high where they are standing in front of you when ever you are doing any type of grooming. That way they get used to it being that way and the groomers aren't introducing a whole new experience when they come in. It is easier on the pups if they are used to it. I have never brought my girls to a groomer but I always do their grooming on the counter or on bath day on the grooming table and they are awful if I try to groom them anywhere else. Also lots of treats for a job well done.. or even for a somewhat ok job lol

Thanks for your info. Thought I was so smart because I brush her everyday and when I pick up the brush she flops in my lap and loves it. That must be why she fights the groomer, especially the toenails. Will start doing it on a counter.

Your baby looks wonderful. I know how you feel everytime I take Seth and Sasha to the groomers I still take a deep breathe when I look at them after they are cut.....it just kinda sets you back alittle

I love the puppy cut. I just cut Chewy's hair today I like it to look a little shaggy though so I try to cut a little on the long side so it doesn't look just cut. Your baby looks great... And it will grow fast believe me.

I had a hard time with Max and grooming when he first came home. I had him puppy cut but continued to brush/comb him daily. His hair is a lot longer now and while he doesn't like it, he handles it a lot better. I think they just have to learn that standing still for 15-20 minutes will not kill them.

awwww he looks ADORABLE!!! I remember the first grooming my boys had, about the same age as Diddy, 11 months and well when I went to pick them up I didnt recognize them at all! Fletcher was silver! I dropped him off black and got him back silver! haha under all that gloriously dirty ungroomed hair was all this silver So at least your baby didn't change COLOR on you!!! haha
