| How big will Mylo be? Mylo will be 4 months on the 20th and he is 5 1/2 lbs. Everyday he just seems to be getting bigger and bigger before my eyes. When will he stop growing? And when is it too late for his ears to stand. Both his parents ears stand straight up but I don't think his will. Last edited by Jennifer-Lori; 01-10-2008 at 02:40 PM. |

| Tessa is almost 4mths and she is 4lbs. Both her parents were only 4lbs so I was wondering the same thing. I was told she probably wouldn't get bigger then 4lbs. BTW, he is the cutest thing and I love his ears!

| Thank you! He is a really good puppy too. Mylo was 2.2 lbs at 7 1/2 weeks and jumped right to 4 lbs at 10 weeks. His parents were 7 and 8 lbs but I think he is going to be way more then that LOL. I don't really mind if he is a big yorkie, I kinda like that because him and his brother play pretty rough all day long. I was just wondering when he will stop growing. |

| Well have you shave the ears in the v on the top part to take the weight off them? And also have you tried taping his ears up? Sometimes they have to have help. You tape for 3 days and then see if they stand and keep repeating as necessary

| I did shave his ears and tape them but his ears are so big LOL. I put the tape on them and they just seem to fall right back. It's almost like he can't keep them up. It looks like the one ear wants to stand but the other doesn't. |

| Pikko's ears are the same. I've been massaging them but no luck. I might have to resort to taping in a couple months. He is 3.5 months old and is probably around 4 lbs as well. I hope he doesn't get too big either! |

| My friend has a Yorkie who is the same age as Mylo and she is always taping them but they just don't want to stand. Both of her yorkies parents ears are down so we are not sure if that is why she is having such a hard time. I really think she has given up now . |

| He is adorable..as far as the size, his weight isn't showing up on the chart I use...I'd say, most likely he's going to be a bit bigger, but, you never know, he may slow down...My 14 lb girl was 7 lbs at a year, and now at almost 5 she's 14.1...all that much more to love.. |

| Mylo looks so much like Samson and they're very close in age and size. Samson was 4 months on the 7th and is 5 lbs - growing very quickly from his 3 lbs at 3 months. His ears look like they want to stand up but don't stay up. When he's playing with a toy, sleeping, or running they're up but otherwise they're only half up even after being shaved. I'd love for them to stand up but if they don't that's ok too. Like you, I wonder how big he's going to get. Both of his parents were less than 4 lbs each. The vet says he'll be around 9 lbs. He's such a cutie and the joy of my like so the bigger he is the more to love!!!

| Some Yorkies grow quickly and then slow down early...others grow slow but steady until they are about a year old. My Yorkie boys stopped growing between 6 and 7 months...I now have 2 Biewer girls that are 4 months and seem to have slowed down in their growth a little. If you want the ears to stand you'll have to shave both sides of the ear from the top to the bottom to get all of the weight off of the ear...especially if his ears are thick and heavy. I've been taping my girls' ears and it is helping but they go up and down. Do you know how to tape correctly? There are several ways but there are some websites with pictures that show the correct way to tape. You have to be sure you get support at the bend in the ear...this is where the cartiledge needs to harden so they will stand. |
