| I'm...A...Meanie I guess. I am sadden cause this afternoon Furgie was running and playing after DGD left to go home, anyways I got up from the PC and as Furgie rounded the corner she cowered as if I was going to hit her or as if she wasn't happy to see me... Shrug! that just made me sad. Right now she is sleeping right between me and the keyboard... this is our normal everyday thing. I know she enjoys being with me and I also know she just came out of a fear stage but, somethings when I go to pick her up or bend over to pet her she will cower a bit. I know she isn't scare of me 99 % of the time...but sometimes she acts this way and I don't understand. Is this normal...do you all have a Yorkie like this....she seams a bit too timed to me. All this cowering makes me feel like I'm missing it somewhere and maybe she would be happier with someone else. Maybe I'm just not cut out for such a small dog...I feel like a meanie. |

| i know EXACTLY how you feel.. Layla cowers too... if you didn't know any better you'd say she was an abused animal.. but she honest to god isn't.. i can't figure it out.... i'll go to pick her up or just pet her and she cowers.. i'm worried some people will get the wrong idea.. but i have no idea what caused this or how to fix it.. dont' worry.. you aren't alone |

| Its okay I have one that does that too and it is just her personality. Shes 3 yrs old and has always been that way and My Husband and I have never even spoken harshly to her so theres no rhyme or reason to why she is like that. She is also a more nervous dog than my male yorkie. She even gets nervous when we rearrange the furniture. Go figure. You just have to love them for their own persnality

| All three of mine do that too. The only thing I can think of (or maybe just to make me feel better) is to try to see me as she does, this HUGE thing is leaning towards me!!!!!! Then again they may be submissive because I'm the leader of this pack. Who knows, when mine do that I just pet them and walk away, they usually jump up and run after me

Since this thread I've paid closer attention to what they do. If I go to them they cower down if I let them come to me then they are kissy and hyper.

| I havent posted here in a long time.......so much going on in my world....my Peanut is precious though! He also does this cowaring and it worried me too because like someone else posted, if you didnt know it you would think he was abused! And he is NOT, he is treated very well lol. My kids and my husband get jealous of him, Ive never loved an animal and Ive had other dogs, purebred at that, but none has ever compared to peanut! He is just precious....... Kelly |
