| Oh Fozzy, I am so sorry that this horrible tragedy is what prompted your first post on Yorkie Talk. But I can guarantee that your painful posts has now saved more than one baby. Thank you and God bless you and your family.

| I already posted once, but I had just had my husband read this post. He immediately went to the garage to measure. Keep in mind we just had our brand new garage door installed 2 months ago. The sensors were set at a towering TEN INCHES HIGH!!! Both my dogs and any child could have ended up under that!! He moved it himself and could only get it down to 7 inches. We measure the pups, and it should be okay now. But we'll call the garage people to see what they say. So, as you read this, don't "assume" yours is okay. Please go measure!! I don't know if Fozzy will return to YT after this warning, but we never would have dreamed of measuring the sensors had they not posted about their tragedy.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry for your tragic loss. A couple of months ago I took my Pom out the garage door to get the mail and completely forgot she was out there and I started to shut the garage door and my husband was standing at the house door and said wait Maya is out there, just as he said that Maya entered the garage an d tripped the sensor and the door went back up. I was so paniced but thank God it worked. I usually don't take her out that way so I will not to that again. I know our sensors are low as I just knocked one off the other day and my BIL gluedit back on, but I am going to go test them just to make sure they are lined up properly. I never let the other 3 out front as they would take off, but I am still going to make sure that the sensors are no higher than 5 inches high. Thank you for this warning. My heart breaks for you.

| Thank you for sharing your heartbreaking story. I am so sorry for your loss. I would pursue the issue of liability of the contractor or installer, because their carelessness should not be repeated. I would also alert the local media to tell your story so you can reach a wide audience and those who have used the same installer would be notified of the danger possibly at their own home. I live in a house over a 110 yrs old, with a very old garage, so I do not have an automatic door, but I was just visiting my parents & refused to let the dogs out of the car when they pulled in the garage until the garage door was all the way down. My mother scoffed at me, but I said I was not taking my chances with a 3 1/4 lber and a 4 1/2 lber. I'm not sure how tall they are. I will be emailing your story to others to scream out the warning, And that added on the thread by others. I hope you will stay around YT

| So very sorry for your tragedy -- it looks like your thoughtfulness in sharing your loss may help save other people from having it happen to them. If we know any garage door installers, like one of the YTers above, we should also share it with them. |

| I am sorry to hear about your tragic loss. I would certainly continue to pursue the irresponsible actions of the contractor. It could have been a child who was hurt and they would give the same response; thats not accecptable.
