Biewers started with 2 Yorkies, so whether you agree or disagree about them being a separate breed, they will have similarities. "Mr Biewer" decided he liked the look and started breeding for it.

Still not accepted by the AKC as a separate breed but you can do a search on here and read lots of posts about them.
:) scrapindee knows this, she breeds biewers..

I would definitely get a biewer if we didn't already have Rockie. They are a gorgeous breed.:thumbup:

well whats funny...i always thought a biewer dog looked like shih tzu not a maltese.but i definitely prefer the yorkie but the biewers are gorgeous!

I prefer the traditional look, but then again it goes with my personal color palette preferences. :D

I have seen some pictures of very beautiful Biewers, though!

They look nothing like a shih tzu, but, other than the black and the other brownish color on mine, he looks identical to a maltese, but, then again, I got him from a broker(which, I didn't know until after I purchased him)

I totally love the look of the yorkies in the more traditional colors, and I wouldn't trade my Sawyer for any dog in the world; but, if I hit the lottery the first person I am calling is Scrapindee to see if she has any puppies available. her puppies are the most beautiful I have ever seen, and I actually droll over their pictures.:)

THANKS for the information! As a new yorkie owner it was fun to read, I had no idea there was such a thing as a biewer, however I didn't know that a Silky was also a yorkie. Is that correct? My friend has a silky that is much bigger and colored different than my Yorkie. I think I prefer the biewer to the silky.

Cosmo has different colors than my new yorkie will and I love both. However, I agree Scrapindee has the most adorable puppies. There are tons of adorable pups on this site! One night I spent like 6 hours looking a pictures, it was so fun and there are some gorgeous yorkies!:animal-pa

No a silky and a yorkie are 2 different dogs...a yorkie should have a silky coat though..go to www.ack.org there you can see the difference between the yorkie and silky.
Although they look similiar, there is a difference

That is what I told her but she insisted Bella is a yorkshire silky. I even looked it up and found the information which states it is a different breed. She is the type can make you think you are wrong even though you have some proof. Thanks for the confirmation! It confirmed that even though I am new to the breed I do know how to read ;) Plus Bella has a much larger bone structure!

Thank you for the compliments; I have a great camera; a great husband who will help with the photography and the lighting; and an extraordinary webmaster who keeps the website updated on a regular basis (updated yesterday with new pictures and a new theme).

I love the Biewers and enjoy sharing them with all you. I hope it shows.

i don't think they look anything like a maltese....i've had plenty of maltese and none of the biewers look as small.i love shih tzu though...as I am just stating MY opinion.
