I think you are in more of the path than I am. I hope everything will be OK at your home. I'm glad you are going to bug out.

You will be doing the right thing, by not allowing your concerns to show around your baby. She will be aware of enough as it it.

We have family in Destin, so I know the concerns you have.

I am a U-haul dealer and just had to call in to the district office which is in Mobile. I was on hold for 30 minutes. Everyone is trying to get equipment to evacuate with. I'm glad people are taking precautions and leaving. I guess Ivan really scared everybody last year.
Brenda, I hope your family in Destin is OK.

My sister lives in Pensacola, so we're following Dennis closely. She got hit hard by Ivan last year and is in the path for Dennis. Thankfully, she came home this week to run a race with me. Last year, she got paid to for 3 weeks of "work" while she was home and the university for which she works shut down due to damage. She's supposed to return Monday, but is hoping for something similar to last year!

Stock up on the Nutristat/cal, and make sure that you have plenty of fresh water just in case. I would also have a first-aid kit handy. Music would definitely be a good thing. I would also contact your vet to find out where he or she will be after the storm (if not in the office.) The office would probably be able to give you a very complete list of "hurricane musts" for your pet.

Good luck and be safe. My thoughts are with those of you in Dennis' path. I hope you and your families (skin and fur) are safe from harm.

I'm in Florida and we lost electricity for 7 days the last time we got hit. I thought I was going to die from the heat. I'm praying this one passes us by.

I will be thinking about all of you that are in the hurricanes path. I sure hope this one weakens some before it hits. Be sure and let us know how things are going, so keep us posted.

I'm in Jax. we had 3 last year, our electicity was out for over a week. Now, compared to some, that was nothing but Chloe was a little one. What a nightmare. We live in a wooded area. I could not see her for potty and she could not understand what was going on. This time, off to a hotel for us.
