It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | First Welcome to YT. How old is your dog? Still a puppy? Puppies ears can be streanghten earlier then older dogs. My first yorkie was almost 9 months old before his ears stood up. I did go ahead a shave all the hair from his ears just until they became strong enough to hold up. The muscules in the ears have to have enough strength to hold them up. and the hair weighs them down. I only had to shave them completely for about a month then they stood with hair on them. Good luck

| standing ears If you pup is still young you have time. I recommend shaving the whole ear. Also massaging helps too. It increases the blood flow to the area. The hair will groow back in no time. I had one female who had one ear that tipped over til she was a year old but with lots of massage and keeping the hair short it eventually stayed up the rest of her life. |

| I'd shave the whole ear to help them stand up, and then you can tape them up.

| I had Rockies shaved a month ago completely when he was groomed. They are standing a little. He is still teething, so I'll probably get them shaved again. He is eight months and his ears are thin.
